CHAYA

"How was it?" again, I am sitting in front of this devastated man.

"She looks fine. She's sweet as always. But her eyes is full of questions." I can't help but to feel pity. I may have an iron fist but I also have that thing called conscience, so what can I do?

"I don't think if she can remember Me." his voice is full of doubts. Well, this is the first time I heard that tone of voice from him.

"Give her time to process everything. We experienced that as well." Then I took a sip of my iced coffee.

"She asked my name though." he said while looking at his coffee.

"But I only gave her my first name." He added.

"She only know my nickname. Even in the marriage contract, I asked my friend to put my nickname instead of my full name coz I don't want anybody to know about it but right now, I don't care anymore. As long as I am with Roya, I will give her everything she wants." He is so determined to have his wife back. I can see it right through his eyes.

"When she is ready, she will remember everything about you." I replied.

"Rain. I have something to give you, can you follow me?" I remember something I've been keeping. It took a while for me to decide when to give it, and to whom.

He nodded and followed me on the storage room.

"This one is the last painting Roya made. Manang asked me to take care of it and bring it back to Roya once she recovered." I slowly removed the white cloth that I used to cover the canvas.

It was an image of a lady dressed in red, her eyes isn't showing but her smile say it all.

"Roya... Painted the red dress with her own blood." I was shook when I saw that painting right after she slit her palm.

"Before she totally lose consciousness that time, she keeps on murmuring something." I added. She was on the stretcher when she slightly gained consciousness. It is only for a minute or two and she keeps on mumbling about something.

"Something like 'I look beautiful' and about a 'red dress.' I don't really understand clearly but it's something like that."

He look stunned and speechless as if he was choked by his own tongue. His face turned pale as if he is out of blood.

"T-the very first time I asked her out. H-her red dress compliment her skin and her features. Her lips stand out the most, as if it is a newly opened red rose bud." His tears came rushing from his eyes the moment he open his mouth.

"I t-told her that she looks beautiful in her red dress." Even though Roya can't remember his face and his name, she keeps on remembering the feelings she have for him.

"You are such a cry baby, Rain." I chuckled just to break the sad atmosphere. He looks so restless, sad and desperate at the same time.

"Roya will remember you, just give her some time. Her feelings for you will guide her." I gave him a smile.

"And stop stressing yourself too much. Roya might get mad at me when she found out that I am giving you a hard time." I added.

"Take this too, it is Roya's Sketch pad." I handed him the sketch pad that she has been treasuring so much. A sketch pad full of Rain.

"I'll take care of this Chaya. Thank you." honestly, I don't really know much about Rain. But as time passed by, he proved that he is worthy of Roya's love.

It might not undo Roya's pain, but it will help them grow and cherish the love they have for each other.
