"You are not painting my nails!"

Keith puffed out his bottom lip, pouting. "But you asked what you could do to make up for it," Keith said with a whine. Over the past ten minutes, he has been trying to convince Lance to let him paint his nails. So far, he has gotten no where.

"Anything but that. C'mon, Clem, I have football," Lance whined. The last thing he wanted was for his teammates to make fun of him for having sparkly pink nails. Lance just thought that it was girly and he didn't like that. He wasn't a girl so he shouldn't be painting his nails?

"So? There is nothing wrong with painting your nails," Keith argued. He wasn't going to give up. Lance was getting his nails painted wheatear he liked it or not.

"It's for girls."

Keith frowned his eyebrows. "There is no label on nail polish that says 'for girls'. Get over your toxic masculinity and let me paint your nails." Keith crossed his arms over his chest and gave Lance a death stare. It upset him that he would say that. Products or clothes don't have genders, Lance needed to realize that.

Lance sighed and flopped back down on to his bed. Both boys were back at Lance's house, spending time together. After their argument they both ended up feeling really guilty and ashamed. Of course, they made up and everything was back to normal now. Keith hadn't payed any attention to the calls and texts he had been receiving from Shiro. He had been gone for a couple hours now, but can you blame him? He needed time to cool off. Spending time with Lance was the perfect way to do that. No matter how mad Shiro was going to be after this, he didn't care. It was Shiro's fault he kept leaving the house and ignoring him.

"No, Keith," Lance stated. Sure, he'd do anything for Keith, but painting his nails was a no. He had family and friends. His friends were already questioning him, and his team was already ignoring him. Lance didn't want to draw any more attention to himself.

Keith sniffled, pretending to be sad. "Y-You yelled at me and broke a promise that meant a lot to me," Keith mumbled in a shaky tone. He put his face into his hands and continued to sniffle. Keith knew exactly how to get into Lance's head and that's what he was going to do. "You brought u-up trauma from my past."

Lance peered up at Keith, hearing his change of tone. He sat up and bit at his lip. Lance still felt really bad for all the awful things he did to Keith. He promised to never hurt Keith and look what he did. Lance just hoped he'd never hurt him like that ever again. "What color?" Lance asked in a low tone, finally giving it.

Keith looked up from his hands with a bright smile, knowing he won. "White and black," he giggled. Keith got excited all of a sudden. He got what he wanted, and to spend time with Lance.

Lance glared at Keith, now realizing he was faking it. He sighed and got up from his bed, dragging himself into his sister's room. He knew that if he didn't cave eventually, Keith would still be begging. Lance really didn't want to do it, but he was doing it for Keith. He wanted to see Keith smile and make him happy. Lance loved the look on Keith's face when he was excited and joyful. It made Lance happy seeing Keith happy. Which is why it hurt Lance so much seeing him cry. Watching Keith cry earlier and knowing it was because of him nearly ripped Lance in half. After all he did to Keith, he figured the least he could do was let Keith paint his nails.

Lance knocked on Veronica's door. All of his siblings were home at the moment because it was Saturday. Keith got introduced to Marco and Luis, which was an experience. Veronica's door swung up. "What's up?"

"I need nail polish," Lance muttered with a sigh. He knew Veronica was going to question why he wanted nail polish. In all honesty, he was not ready for that conversation, but there was no way out of it.
