"They'll hate me!"

Shiro sighed, putting his face in the palm of his hand. "No, they won't, Keith," he mumbled, getting tired of this conversation.

It was Christmas Eve, six o'clock in the evening. Currently, Keith was running around the house like a chicken with it's head cut off, packing for Lance's house. Lance was picking him up in about thirty minutes to take him to his house for the holiday. He had informed Keith about a week ago that he'd be meeting Lance's parents for the first time. Keith didn't think anything of it till yesterday. It finally dawned on him that he would be spending a very important holiday with the McClain family. Keith wasn't really good at introductions, or talking to people in general. He had social anxiety and he hated meeting new people. Meeting his boyfriend's parents was a huge deal. Keith knew he had to make a good first impression if he wanted them to like him, but the thing was Keith didn't know how. The fact that he was meeting them on Christmas Eve made everything ten times more stressful then it already was. Keith wasn't really a cheerful person, which didn't mix well with the holiday season. He didn't want to come off as rude or grumpy to Mcclain's because he honestly didn't favor Christmas. Keith also didn't want to put on an act to make them like him. Lance told him last night when he expressed his concern not to worry about it, but that didn't help in the slightest. Keith was still really fucking nervous, and Shiro was no help either.

"Yes they will! Have you met any of the McClain's before? They're like saints!" Keith yelled from upstairs, shoving clothes into an overnight bag. He knew he was probably overthinking the situation, but he couldn't help it. Lance was Keith's first boyfriend, he's never been through this before. He didn't know what to expect or how to act, and calming his nerves didn't really seem like an option.

"I work with one!" Shiro shouted back. Keith had been going on a tangent about this for the past hour. He knew Keith had a pretty good reason to be worried, but Shiro felt like he was overreacting. Shiro understood he was nervous, but Lance's family was full of nice people. No matter what they'd love Keith, Shiro knew that much.

"Then you should understand!"

Shiro let out a sigh, officially giving up. He knew Keith was just going to continue to worry about this no matter what he said. Shiro felt a pair of arms snake around his shoulders, draping around his neck. He looked above him to be met with his fiance's smiling face. "Cut him a break, he's just nervous," Adam mumbled, placing a light kiss on Shiro's forehead. "You weren't much different meeting my parents."

Shiro's cheeks dusted with a light pink, knowing Adam was right. He couldn't lie, he was nearly bouncing off the walls the first time he met Adam's family. Years later, Adam's family loved Shiro. He turned back to table, knowing his fiance was right. He knew Keith's nerves were on edge for a very good reason. First impression were very important. As much as Shiro wanted his brother to chill, he knew he wasn't going to. "Yes, I know," he sighed.

There was a knock at the door that gained both Shiro's and Adam's attention. They both turned to door, but before they could move to answer it Keith was on it. "I've got it!" Keith yelled from his bedroom. Shiro laughed a little, taking that as a challenge. He quickly rose from his seat and made his way to the door. Shiro moved quickly and quietly, trying not to alert Keith that he was answering the door. They all knew it had to be Lance. Keith probably wanted to get it so Lance didn't have to deal with his older brother. Shiro knew that all too well. If Lance and Keith were going to be dating from here out then Lance had to get used to Shiro eventually.

Shiro unlocked the door, and swung it open. The sound of the door opening alone had Keith flying down the stairs. "I told you I'd get it!" Keith yelled, running to the door. His socks slide on the hardwood floor, almost making him fall flat on his ass. The sight of Keith slipping then trying to catch his balance had Lance nearly crying. He threw his head back in laughter, making Keith's face light up in red hues. "Not funny!"
