CHAPTER 26
BIRTHDAY PARTY
We went home earlier than expected, without any charges thanks to our families' connection, money and power. But unfortunately, someone already tipped the media before we could even get out of the station. I was so ashamed knowing that everyone around the world must have heard the story.
Elite Queens have gone rebellious! Driving under the influence, an expired driver's license, broken car backlights, and trying to bribe a police officer---all in one night.
Just bored? We think not. Seems like these girls have always been this wild. Lucky for them, they got money to get away with it.
I admit, I regret going out at the middle of the night but I knew helping Iris is the correct thing to do.
Ava apologized for buying the drinks but we told her, it was not entirely her fault that we all took a sip while Naomi's driving.
"This is horrible. I feel like I'm going to vomit," I groaned as I stare at all the people outside the limo.
"It'll be okay." Aaron held my hand to comfort me.
After that short trip to the police station, my Dad never spoke to me again. I kept on apologizing and explaining my side, but apparently, it was not enough. I wanted to be completely honest about everything.
Dad completely shut me off and gave me a disappointed look.
It broke my heart.
"Are you sure you still want to go with me? Pwede ka pang mag-back out. I don't want you to get involved with all the mess my friends and I created last night."
I'm lucky my parents still allowed me to attend Senyor's party. But he didn't ground me. He didn't freeze my account or forbid me from seeing my friends. He just didn't talk to me, which I think is the worst punishment ever.
Aaron shook his head. "Nothing will change my mind. Now stop fidgeting." He even smiled. I took a deep breath and nodded.
Our parents paid a lot of people to help us get out of that police station, so in return we have stay quiet.
No charges mean we're innocent. I don't want to lie to them but I had to, otherwise our parents could go to jail for what they did.
The moment people saw me, it felt like hell opened up for me. Camera lights are so bright, the shouts are too loud and honestly, it's very suffocating. For the first time in my life, I didn't want the public's attention.
