CHAPTER 29
AGUA VALENCIA
"Caylee!!!" excited na sigaw ni Naomi sabay hila sa akin upang makasama ako sa group picture. I smiled widely and posed for the numerous shot the official photographer took.
Today's the Elite Beach Retreat and we are currently at a luxurious boat, on our way to Senyor's Private Island. We'll stay there for only two days and one night but I know for sure that it's going to be one of the best days of my life.
Malayo kasi kami sa mga magulang namin at sa mga mata ng publiko. No one has an access to the place besides us and Senyor's staff. Tsaka alam naming wala kaming ibang gagawin kundi ang magsaya doon. Parties, drinks and games, that's the plan.
To make things even better, official photos from Senyor's team will be the only one allowed to be uploaded on the internet. Kahit kami ay hindi pwedeng mag-share ng sarili naming mga litrato without their approval. Mahigpit ang patakaran dahil ayaw ni Senyor makita ng buong mundo ang bawat sulok ng kanyang munting isla.
I have all the freedom in the world even just for a short period of time. I can be wild and get wasted without worrying about my parents. Hindi ko kailangang pigilan ang sarili ko magpakalasing dahil hindi ako uuwi sa bahay. We will stay on the island until it's time to go home. Not that I'm planning on getting too drunk, but the thought of just having fun really excites me.
"Why are you smiling?"
I glanced at the guy who spoke at my side, my smile instantly fading. "Aaron..."
Tumingin siya sa dagat at ngumisi. "No need to be awkward around me. I had the chance to think about what you said and I decided to respect it." Is he telling me that he's finally accepting the fact that I don't want him anymore?
"But I hope I can still be a part of your life," sambit niya sabay lingon sa akin. "Friends?"
Inilahad niya ang kamay niya at tinitigan ko iyon. I thought he said we can't be friends. Akala ko mahihirapan siya?
"You sure?" I asked him, staring at his face so I could read his mind.
He smiled genuinely. "I don't have a choice. I'd rather be just friends with you than be nothing." Kahit nakangiti siya ay kita ko ang lungkot sa mga mata niya. Dinig ko sa boses niya ang sakit na naidudulot ko sa kanya. I wanted to hug him to comfort him but I don't want to cross the line.
"Friends." I smiled back, shaking his hand. Agad ko ring inalis ang kamay ko at tumingin na sa dagat. Malapit na kami sa Agua Valencia, I could see it already.
"Hey." I looked at my left and saw Zin walking towards me. Nakatingin siya sa akin ngunit agad dumapo ang kanyang mga mata sa katabi ko. His jaw clenched for a second but he managed to calm himself when he stood beside me. "Can we talk?"
I nodded and waited for him to speak but he just stood there. That's when I realized he wanted to talk to me alone.
"Doon tayo." Ako na lang ang nagyaya umalis kaysa naman paalisin ko si Aaron. I walked to the other side of the boat and Zin followed.
