Preliminary round

Naruto POV

Today was the preliminaries and most genin who made it were displeased by the announcement of preliminaries.  The old man hokage gave a long speech, then the proctor came and informed us of what was to happen. When he asked for people who were wanting to give up I was unnerved by the fact Kabuto didn't drop out, this tells me since he couldn't gather intel on  sasuke in the forrest his mission has changed, meaning he will stay through the preliminary to gather more info.

The first match was sasuke vs Yōroi. Sasuke defeats him easily especially since he can use chakra.

Second was Shino vs Zaku, the latter had his arms obliterated.

Third was Misumi vs kankuro. The puppet master was the victor

The fourth match made my heart sink.

Kabuto Vs Haku

They both entered the arena, the fight went under way. And you could see Kabuto was to a degree serious, I believe he might have been ordered to win the fight. He rushed Haku with a chakra scalpel. Haku knowing the human Body quite well himself understood the danger of the move, so he kept his distance and and used water senbon to attack with hits going through every now and then because Kabuto couldn't dodge or block them all. However I knew of Kabutos advanced healing. Kabuto then sped up to jonin speed, however when he struck Haku, it turned out to be water. The water then engulfed kabuto in a water prison. Kabuto being the genius he was was thinking of how to break out, however then made handsigns with his free hand and froze the outer layer of the prison trapping kabuto under the ice in freezing water.

Haku " Procter is reccomend declaring me the victor unless I have to go further and completely freeze my opponent, and I assure you it won't be pleasant when even your blood turns to ice. "

Haku was declared the winner.

He then freed kabuto, who I kind of just wished he'd be killed off instead I saw the traitor look and the disguised snake and frowned at the look he was given he clearly failed that part of the mission.

Then it was was Sakura and Inos fight. Sakura having been influenced by me attempted to fight more strategically, and with seriousness of a kunoichi. Ino who had seen this decided she'd put her lifelong training to good use a match Sakura a determination. They spoke the whole time and really resonated with each other, you could see the dislike for the other due to their rivalry disappear and turn more into respect. I cheered them both on, and when ino first heard me also cheer for her she looked at me in confusion it gave me a smile. Sakura would use different tags that I taught her such as stamina draining tags and what not, meanwhile ino showed of her new jutsu flower bomb. The to got prettier banged up but continued to fight when they ran low on chakra they began a exhausting taijutsu spar but broke off for a breather. That's when ino used mind transfer jutsu but it failed because of the existence of inner Sakura. Using their last strength they ran at each other a threw the hardest punch they could which both connected and they were respectively knocked out by the other final attack resulting in a draw. Team sauna and my team were shocked at how hard  they fought given their past behavior. And I could see new found respect grow towards them from our teams even sasuke was interested in the fight as no one have ever seen those two as dedicated to something such as a fight before.

The next fight was tenten vs temari it didn't end well but as a fellow leaf ninja I cheered for ten ten to show my respect.

Ten it was Shikamaru vs kin. The lazy genius didn't even break a sweat

Next was my match

Naruto vs kiba

I entered the arena a boisterous started acting like a goofball talking about me being the greatest genin the leaf village has ever seen. Kiba then also entered and silenced me by talking shit about me being the class clown and a deadlast for life and how I won't even be able to stay a genin do to how much I apparently suck.

The fight began and I did what I was curious to do, I kept tanking fang over fang to see how strong it really is and I'll admit I was impressed for a move this low levels I'm skill to be so effective. I hurt yes but pretended to be more busted up then I was even allowing myself to get cuts on certain spots so I was bleeding. I decided to shock everyone by using a b rank genjutsu that I had created.   I call it overload, because it causes a sensory overload so much that they start to perceive things that aren't there whether it be a hallucination or even feeling of touch
It also disorientated many senes such as equilibrium. And since your processing things so fast. It highly inaccurate and will make most things appear like a blur, what's impressive is it effects every sense.

This affects Akamaru as well I then knock kiba out with a chop to the neck and release the puppy from the genjutsu since when I'm serious I don't announce my attack out loud like the vast majority of people do. So the audience doesn't fully know what happened or what jutsu I used I then went back to goof ball mode and pranced around

Naruto " I didn't think I was gonna make it there for a second kibas really strong, but I guess it's natural because I'm gonna be hokage dattebayo! "

This makes everyone sweat drop and most forget about my accomplishment just now.

Walking back to the stand is stopped by hinata.

Hinata " h- here Naruto it's medical cream it should help with your injuries e-especially the cuts. "

Naruto " thank you so much hinata, I can't wait to see you fight, I know your pretty strong and will put up a great fight, I believe in you dattebayo! "

I say and give her a cheesy smile which she blushes furiously at. And almost faints but doesn't because Kurenai shoos me away.

Hinata vs neji
It went mostly the same as in the anime except i was more vocal about my support of the shy girl.
When the fight ended I went down to the arena and rubbed my hand in hinata a puddle of blood and lifted my bloody hand and pointed at Neji.

Naruto " listen here you stuck up jerk I don't know why your so upset but I know hinata is innocent and for you to do what you just did makes you just as bad if not worse than the ones you are angry at. I'm going to get it through your thick skull that the path you've taken is the wrong way, and in the name of my friend hinata I will demolish you and destroy your current way of thinking with my fists. "

I then flick some of the blood on his face

Naruto " now this is a matter bound by blood you and me are linked together by the blood of a kind and innocent person, the blood you spilled will be the destruction of your current self I will end the current you and when I'm done you will realize the error of your ways."

This shocked everyone in the arena and the hokage was unsettled, because he knew when I'm serious I'm not a push over I'm comparable to itachi and shisui who were both a rank ninja even though I do not posses the sharingan, hell he is the person who has me hide my true strength.

The next fight was lee vs Gaara and i stayed silent through the fight. It pained me to see what happen to such a good person as lee but I knew taunade would help him, as for Gaara I'm the one who's suppose to save him..........

Lastly it was Dosu vs choji and the akimichi lost embarrassingly.

After that the preliminary section was brought to a end, we were given a month to prepare for the finals. Haku said how he intended to train with the third hokage who said it would be put to good use to have a leaf ninja who is skilled and proficient in water to learn some of the water jutsu that made the second hokage so deadly. Sasuke was going to be trained by kakashi, and I was given Ebisu who I out right refused, however do to my senseis orders I was forced to follow Ebisu. Him not knowing anything about me thought he would train me in water walking so the closet pervert brought us to the hot springs.

This would lead me to a meeting that would change my life.
