Sitting at the Apple Rose Grille, Spencer filled the girls in about what had happened the day before.
"Do you think somebody rubbed that sweater on your bracelet?", Aria asked, stating the obvious.
"Somebody?", Avery scoffed, "Try Ian."
"He's doing everything he can to make you look guilty. Your parents should hire you a 24-hour bodyguard", Emily added,
Aria didn't look convinced. She glanced at Hanna who was scarfing down a plate of fries and asked carefully, "What about Jenna? What if she paid Caleb to get that bracelet?"
Avery rolled her eyes, "When was Caleb in Spencer's house?"
"He doesn't need an invitation, Aves. He broke into a vending machine with a spork, remember?"
"That was a rusty old vending machine. This is a-"
"Why are you-"
"Guys", Spencer called out, stopping the small fight brewing, her eyes focused on something outside the window. In the distance, the church bell rang. Spencer turned back to the girls, "I think somebody's watching us." Spencer motioned to a line of figures outside the windows.
"Those?", Emily said in relief, "They're for the founders festival."
"Man, if that's what Rosewood's founding family looked like, how did they ever get anyone to move here?", Aria joked.
"And why were they allowed to reproduce?", Spencer added, causing Avery to snort out loud.
Emily wasn't in the mood to joke, "Guys, if Caleb was-"
"Could we stop using the 'C' word?", Hanna snapped.
"We know this is hard for you, okay, but we have to talk about Ca-him", Aria corrected herself.
"If we want to help Spencer, we have to know what Caleb knows", Emily added.
"Guys, there is definitely somebody out there", Spencer whispered as the others ignored her comment.
"Maybe if we cornered Caleb, not in school, but somewhere that's Jenna-free-", Aria began before Avery cut her off, "If Caleb's gonna talk to anyone, it's gonna be Han", Avery looked at Hanna pleadingly, "Will you do it?"
Hanna sighed, "To help Spencer, sure."
Emily beamed, "Thanks, Hanna." The girls got up, ready to leave, but noticed Spencer staring outside the window, fixated in her seat.
"Spencer?", Hanna called out, "Are you coming?"
Spencer slowly turned back to the girls and got up carefully, "Yeah."
