Early next morning, Spencer burst into Avery's house, blabbering something about seeing Alison the previous night.
"Spencer, you're overthinking this", Avery rolled her eyes at the panicking Hastings girl.
"Then why was the door open?", Spencer shot back.
"You're taking two different medications. You probably got up in the middle of the night-"
"She was in my living room, Avery. I could still smell her creme rinse after she left", Spencer paused sighing, "You think I'm losing it, don't you?"
Avery's mind momentarily flashed back to time she had imagined Alison at the graveyard and shook it off as a mere coincidence. Avery confessed, "No, I don't. I've been there. After the Founders Festival, I went to the cemetery and imagined her being there, beside me. That conversation felt more real than you and me talking in this room, even though Ali seemed much nicer than usual."
"So, wait, what are you saying, that she actually was in my house this morning?", Spencer's eyes widened, "That's she's alive?"
"I didn't say that. I just think that Ali is like holding all of our brains hostage, and we won't be able to sleep until we find out what really happened to her-", Avery looked behind Spencer and nervously smiled, "Morning!"
Spencer spun around to meet Jason walked towards the kitchen. The girls exchanged glances, wondering how much of the conversation Jason overheard. Spencer learned forward, "When did that happen?"
Avery shrugged, "Remember the fire?"
Spencer mouthed a 'oh', looked at her brother, before leaning closer towards Avery, and well out of Jason's earshot, "We need to comb through the papers once more."
Well, it will probably yield no results, but it was better than having to listen to Spencer rant about Alison's appearance.

Despite what she thought earlier that day, scanning through the newspapers in the morning did help. Spencer and Avery were able to uncover a definitive connection between some ads in the paper.
"Guys, we figured it out", Spencer exclaimed, slamming the pile of papers onto the lunch table were Hanna, Aria and Emily already were, "Alison took out a classified ad asking A to meet her in Brookhaven, and A responded."
"This was going on for like a month", Avery explained, "Look. 'Dear A, what's it gonna take to end this? You need to stop. A.D.'"
"'Hey, desperately seeking silence, who says I wanna end this? A.'", Aria shakily read out from another newspaper.
"Let me see that", Hanna cut in taking another newspaper from the pile, "What's this one?"
"It's the last paper before Labor Day weekend", Emily noted, "Alison was set to meet A at 235 Spruce Street."
