The last few days Bear had been acting strange. After they showed Balake his room and got him settled in, Bear had to call his brothers for church. She understood they had issues needed to be resolved so she didn't pester him about anything.
Today Balake and Haisley were stuck at the compound with the prospects and a couple of his brothers. Bear had left early in the morning and hasn't been back.
She had asked the boys about him but the just said 'he will be back soon' and changed the topic. Eventually, she gave up and took Balake to the back yard to get some fresh air.
Haisley grabbed a few of his toys and blanket for them to sit on so they wouldn't have to sit on the itchy grass. She watched as Balake laughed and threw his toys around.
She tried to enjoy the time with him but her mind kept going back to him acting weird after their meeting. Haisley had been so busy with moving in and talking to her boss down at the diner on giving her some time off to heal.
Balake and Haisley had stayed outside for a few hours, before deciding it was time to go inside and give Balake a bath. He had gotten into the grass and dirt when she was deep into thought. She couldn't help but laugh when she saw his small hands covered in dirt along with the bottom of his pants.
"Alright, big guy. Let Mama strip you down and start the water" she tells Balake as she kneels down, helping him stand while she strips him of his dirty clothes.
