CHAPTER FIVE:
THE MISSION

OLIVIA LANDED THE JET, SHARING a look with Natasha. They both got ready for the mission ahead of them. They knew what they had to do, and they had to do it fast. Natasha cocked her gun whilst Olivia got hers as well. The two nodded at one another before leaving the jet. The HYDRA base was huge, grey walls taunting the two assassins. They crept to the back of the base, Natasha quickly knocking out the soldier before he could do anything.

Olivia kneeled down, taking the gun from his hands before quickly taking his badge and allowing the two inside. They stayed to the walls, Olivia peeking around one before looking at Natasha and nodding her head. The two went further and further into the base, occasionally killing an agent here or there.

The two girls were kneeled down by the wall, their eyes looking at the room that supposedly held the serum. Their were workers inside, testing the serum and working on it. Olivia narrowed her eyes, taking a moment to let them glow blue in hopes of seeing better. When the blue faded, she nodded.

"That's the serum." Olivia nodded her head, keeping her voice low.

"I'll watch your six." Natasha told her. Olivia looked at the redhead before nodding her head. She glided across the hall, making sure to not be seen. She caught eyes with Natasha who nodded her head once before the girl nodded back and opened the glass door. She pulled out her gun, aiming it. The scientist caught the eyes of the girl, jumping in surprise. He held his hands up, Olivia keeping his gun pointed at him.

"Drop the serum, slowly, and hand all of it to me." Olivia calmly demanded. The scientist swallowed thickly as he looked at the girl.

"I-I'm sorry, but I can't do that." He stuttered out.

"I don't want to hurt you, but I will." Olivia told him, taking a step closer to him.

"That's too bad." The sudden confidence of the doctor surprised her. "Because I want to." He quickly pulled out a weapon and before he could even fire, the sound of glass shattering could be heard as well as the man falling on the ground with a bullet hole in his head. Though as the weapon slammed against the ground, it went off, hitting Olivia in the thigh. She let out a string of cuss words, falling to the ground in surprise.

"Son of a bitch!" She muttered before forcing herself up. Gun fire could be heard going on all around her, and Natasha was quick to kill the agents that even tried to get to the close vicinity of Olivia's direction. Olivia looked around, tying to find something to place the serum in before letting out a huff and stuff the two pre-made vials into her belt, making sure they were going to stay before she limped out of room. She had her gun and she was shooting agents as she continued to make her way closer and closer to Natasha.

"Go! Go!" Olivia quickly yelled. Natasha did as told, but in the process she made sure to grab Olivia's arm and drag her along. The two assassins continued to push through the base, firing their weapons whenever an agent neared. Olivia's thigh was bleeding profusely and she could feel herself growing weaker and weaker by the minute. She clenched her jaw and forced herself to push the door open before the two were out. They ran through the trees until Olivia got dizzy and fell onto her hands and knees.

Natasha stopped and turned, looking at the girl. She stood there for a moment, and Olivia was expecting the woman to leave as she tried to force herself up. Natasha's eyes scanned the area before she quickly stuffed her gun into its holster and running up to Olivia. She threw the girls arm over her shoulder before pulling her up.

"No bleeding out on me, you hear?" Natasha muttered, her eyes going down to Olivia's wound that had lost way too much blood for Natasha's liking. She had never done what she was doing before. She had never gone back for someone. She had never felt so scared for the life of someone, especially not someone she barely knew.

"I can heal." Olivia muttered. "Let me. . ." She let out a pant. "Let me heal. . ." Gun shots could be heard in the distance, one of which hit the ground right beside of them.

"Olivia, we don't have time for that. I need to get you to the jet." Natasha whispered to her. The two ran as fast as they could to the jet, Olivia slowly starting to go out of it as she continued to lose pints of blood. Natasha quickly closed that jet hatch and helped Olivia to the passengers seat. However, Olivia tried to push the girl away, pressing a button before Natasha pushed her back in the seat.

"I need to wrap that." Natasha told her, walking away and looking for the first aid kit. What Natasha didn't know what the Olivia had just made the jet turn invisible. Olivia closed her eyes, trying to keep her breaths even. Her eyes continued to glow, trying everything she could to heal herself, but with the bullet lodged in her thigh, she couldn't really do anything. She let out a frustrated sigh, knowing that using her powers was only going to make her grow ten times weaker.

Natasha came back with bandages, and she quickly kneeled in front of Olivia and started to wrap her thigh. Olivia watched her do so, noticing how the woman looked concentrated as she tried everything she could to stop the bleeding.

"Why did you do that?" Olivia muttered. Natasha looked up at her, furrowing her eyebrows.

     "Do what?" Natasha asked.

"Save me. Risk your life to save me. Why would you do that?" Olivia mumbled, her eyes slowly starting to close.

"Honestly, I don't know." Natasha answered her. Olivia hummed in response and Natasha looked up at her. Panic started to flood her when she saw Olivia's eyes closing. She quickly stood and looked at the girl with worry. "Olivia? Hey, look at me. Olivia, keep your eyes open!" Olivia tried to do what she said, but couldn't find it in her to do so. She let out a breath and Natasha shook her, but to no avail.

"Shit." The redhead muttered before quickly entering the drivers seat and taking off back towards the shield base, going as fast as she could.
