Ethan's leg bounced as he waited anxiously, he needed to leave soon but Blake hadn't come back nor had he responded to Ethan's messages. He checked his phone again knowing that it would be the same, he was right and he sighed then shoved his phone into his pocket. He shook Blake's keys making them jingle then sighed and sat them on the table. He couldn't sit still, the worry was making him feel sick. He pulled his phone out again and his finger hovered over the call button then dropped it on the table and put his head in his hands,

"Where are you Blake," Ethan whispered,

He stood up and slid the keys and his phone into his pockets, he couldn't wait any longer or he'd miss meeting with the twins. Walking the streets felt different for Ethan, everything seemed unfamiliar and dull. Every time he heard a car he hoped Blake would drive past but it was never him. Finally, he reached Jake's street and as if on cue the twins turned the corner, Ethan hadn't realised how much he'd missed his friends, he ran over and hugged them both,

"Thank you for doing this," he told them,

Jacie smiled and Nate squeezed his shoulder in support, "We are all worried about him Ethan, he never should have said that. We know he cares about you and we will get to the bottom of why he's pretending he doesn't."

Ethan felt his nerves rise, it felt like something had a hold of his insides and was twisting them but at the same time it felt like his heart was being crushed," He started to sweat nervously as they got closer to Jake's house.

"It's gonna be ok," Nate told him,"

Ethan looked at him in surprise, He'd always liked Nate but he'd never actually realised how supportive he was,

"Nate, Can I ask you something?"

The three of them stopped on Jakes front lawn, "Yeah, what's up?"

Ethan bit his lip not wanting to sound harsh, "Why do you care so much about our relationship?"

Jacie and Nate glanced at each other, "Well," Nate said slowly, "I just want you guys to be happy."

Ethan raised an eyebrow, "That's it?"

Nate nodded and they started walking up the driveway until Jacie stopped, "Hang on, Jake's family car is parked over there," she said pointing across the road.

"So who's cars are these then?" Ethan asked, gesturing at the two cars in the driveway.

The twins shrugged as they reached the door, Ethan took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

They waited for nearly 5 minutes before someone came to the door,

"Hi Mrs Primford," Jacie said uncertainly, "Can we speak to Jake please?"

Mrs Primford didn't smile or acknowledge the others, "He's in his room, Don't be long, he's not meant to have people over anymore."

The three of them looked at each other then the twins rushed upstairs, Ethan felt awkward but quickly followed them. Jacie seemed to get angrier with every step and threw Jake's door open without stopping, "What the hell is going on?"

Jake was sitting on his bed listening to music with his headphones but stopped when he saw Jacie and then the others behind her. He sighed and took the headphones off,

"What are you guys doing here?" he asked coolly,

Jacie's expression softened, "What is going on with you Jake?"
