donghyuck was peacefully sleeping in his comfortable bed, just like any saturday morning. he didn't intend to wake up until the clock strikes 12, but he knew something would wake him up before that. there was always something to wake him up.

mark on his side was already up – just like any of his saturdays as well – and the boy had run to donghyuck's house first thing in the morning.

he had climbed the wall and entered his room, settling on donghyuck's bed immediately after.

mark needed donghyuck's touch right now, and even if they had broken up, they knew very well that both boys still had strong feelings for each other.

so, that's why mark was in donghyuck's room, on a saturday morning, letting his ex-boyfriend snuggle into his side as if he was a comfortable pillow – in two words, things that you shouldn't do with your ex.

mark had his mind stuck on the conversation they had had the day before. on the same bed.

how come they had broken up when they loved each other this much?

the other people had really been so hateful towards them that donghyuck and mark had decided to end things there.

donghyuck was such a perfect person. he was caring for the others. and that's basically why they had broken up. because donghyuck couldn't bear spreading hate around them.

mark would have never done that. he would have rather seen the whole world collapsing around him while he stayed together with donghyuck.

but he loved the nerd way too much. he couldn't say 'no' to any of his requests. and this one, even though it had been the hardest one to achieve, was no exception to the rule.

mark woke up from his little daydream – or should we say 'daynightmare' – because of donghyuck tightening his embrace around his body and inhaling his musky scent with a long sigh.

just then, the tanned male opened his eyes slowly and they fell immediately on mark.

"what are you doing here?" he asked rather surprised.

mark looked at the boy he used to call his boyfriend with tears forming in his eyes.

how could a human being be so perfect?

and how could mark be such a coward that he let him go?

"i-i needed to see you..." mark whispered.

"do you remember we broke up yesterday?" donghyuck asked, not moving from his position, glued to mark.

"sadly, i do..."

"then... shouldn't we... cut ties...?" donghyuck questioned against his will. he knew he would never be able to do that, but for the sake of their entourage, it would be better.

mark let the first tear fall out from his eye to crash on donghyuck's forehead.

"i can't do that donghyuck. i know it will be better for everybody around us, but i can't afford losing you. yesterday has just been the worst day of my life... we... we broke up not even 24 hours ago, and i'm already here crying because i won't be able to be yours again. this is not fair donghyuck... why would others have a happy ending? why wouldn't we?"

donghyuck used his thumbs to wipe mark's tears away.

"mark... i love you so much... i don't think i'll be able to let you go..."

"why are we inflicting us this then?"

donghyuck sighed. did they really have a choice? no. they didn't.

"because-"

donghyuck was cut mid-sentence by someone opening the door without knocking. well, actually, it was four persons. and they screamed as soon as they saw mark lying on donghyuck's bed.

donghyuck hurried out of the bed and slammed his door shut before hushing his friends.

"shut up! we broke up already! are you happy now?!" he yelled to their faces.

the four boys looked behind donghyuck at the biker that was crying silently on their friend's bed.

so, it was true.

"no, don't break up!" jaemin spoke, grabbing donghyuck's shoulders.

the tanned male scoffed.

"you are funny. you guys make me feel like absolute shit because i love someone you don't like, and when i finally do what you asked me, you're telling me to do the opposite..."

the boys stayed silent, watching donghyuck's eyes getting filled with tears.

"you ruined my life. i was the happiest boy on earth by his side... and just because of your childish behaviour, i am the saddest boy in the universe."

"dong- "

"go tell my parents that he is right here!" donghyuck cut chenle. "i don't fucking care! we broke up already..."

chenle waited a few seconds before trying to speak again.

"donghyuck...?" he asked, eying the boy that was now fully sobbing.

"what?" donghyuck lifted his head.

chenle glanced at mark who was literally digging holes in his skull.

"w-we... came to apologise."

donghyuck lifted his head immediately, surprised by the sudden confession.

"huh?"

"we've been so mean, telling you that you should break up and everything..." jisung spoke.

"we didn't take in consideration your feelings, and we're sorry about it. we only thought about ourselves..." jaemin continued.

donghyuck looked at them with widened eyes as mark kept his neutral expression on.

"w-what are you trying to say?" donghyuck stammered.

"we're sorry donghyuck. i know you probably won't forgive us that easily because we hurt you a lot, but we wanted to tell it to you. if it is this boy you like... well... i guess we're ready to accept him into our lives despite our differences..." jeno said.

and even if donghyuck could hear the difficulty he had to get this out because he was not 100% for that idea, he couldn't help but to be grateful.

his friends were back, all together, like they used to be.

donghyuck jumped into their arms, wetting their shirts with his tears in the process.

"thank you so much guys!" he said, his voice muffled in the hug.

a few seconds later, he got out of the hug and jumped on mark who was still on the bed.

"have you heard that?" donghyuck asked. "we can be together again!"

and mark couldn't help but smile at the idea of not being single anymore.
