Trying to get Eleanor away from her new dollhouse and the playhouse they had already set up downstairs was almost impossible. She didn't want to leave until I mentioned her surprise for Ryan. That had her racing back upstairs to get changed.
"Y'all make yourselves at home. We'll be right back." Both went into the kitchen after hearing three confirmations to raid my refrigerator. I followed Eleanor upstairs at a much slower pace, knowing that me running up the stairs wouldn't be good.
Coming into my bedroom, El had already shoved her legs and arms through the holes and was trying to zip up her fire suit. I helped her with that and then ran a brush through her hair before braiding one side and then the other.
"Here's your hat and flag, sweetie," I said grabbing her matching hat and a smaller version of the flag that Ryan gave her. She sat them beside her before grabbing her little black shoes off the dresser I had placed them on really. While she put them on, I grabbed the witches hat I had from last year and put it on. "I'm ready, momma." Grabbing my hand, she tugged as much as she could to leave. Laughing slightly, I followed her down the stairs until she was running to show Ryan her costume.
"Look Ry, we match!" I stood beside Chase, as we both watched them. My heart leaped as he picked her up and let her sit on his hip as she showed off each patch she had. I could tell that Ryan loved her costume and I was glad.
"You even got the checkered flag." He said, a huge grin never leaving his face as she pulled it out to show him. Chase leaned over to me, whispering,
"Daddy Blaney makes his reappearance."
Later that evening Ryan and I were sitting on my couch as the Halloween marathon played on the large television in front of us. Eleanor had already gone to bed and we were having time to ourselves. I had made a bowl of popcorn at the same time Ryan got the television set up.
"You want Coke or Dr. Pepper?" I asked, giving him the bowl and Coke after he said "Whichever you don't." I cuddled in beside him, laying my head on his shoulder, and watched as Michael Myers killed the kids in the house. I liked the beginning ones but as they get later in the franchise, I began to hate them. When the first movie ended and the next one began, Ryan spoke up as he saw that nothing of the jump scares was affecting him.
"You weren't kidding when you told me that you love horror movies." His gaze fixated on me instead of the screen. My cheeks flushed pink as I turned my head up to stare at him.
"They're my favorite. I have a library of movies in a guest room. Whatever horror movie you want to see, it's most likely in that collection. I'd say they're are almost three hundred movies in just that genre alone. He seemed fascinated by the thought of that many movies, but I've seen his collection and it's quite impressive
"I'd love to see them."
With that, I grabbed his hand and drug him upstairs. It was a room that I mostly used as storage for my extra stuff but it had a wall of bookcases that I used for my extensive movie collection. "Holy shit, Sienna. This is more movies than any person I know has." He said, dumbfounded at the sight. With a slight blush, I responded.
"I love collecting movies. Newer and older ones. It doesn't matter." He walked up to the shelf with cases that weren't horror. I still had a good amount of them as well. His fingers traced over the names, stopping on some then movie to the next.
"Okay, we have to have a movie day." He turned to me, almost in amazement. I walked closer to him, nodding my head. "Sounds like a date, babe."
