The crowd continued to grow as the match between the two schools begun to get more intense. It felt like we were sardines being manufactured and sealed into a small slim can. My eyes followers the number 7 player as he ceaselessly moved around from one player to another and then proceeds to shoot on the basketball ring.
The students surrounding the court clamored into high-pitched squeals as we cheered for our team. The sound of water bottles clashes in together reverberated onto the court which eerily aroused our enthusiasm.
Another point for VMNHS.
But it's not enough since we're still behind by three points. With our team only being short of three points everyone was up ok their toes, trying to determine who would be the winner of the game.
The fervor in my eyes didn't dissipate and it has amplified more with the intense game, even I could feel my heart beating so fast as if it was the ball being dribbled into the court. My friends on the other hand were feeling sore from all that shouting though I couldn't fault them since I too was sore from continuous yelling.
The ball was stolen by a very swift player from the other side, they immediately get into their position and defended their side.
The sound of shoes making contact with the ground grew louder as two players from the opposition team moved to make way for their teammate's expect taking.
Number 13, from the opposing team, jumped with the ball in his hands before it was slapped down by number 18. His hands could almost cover the ball and he did it so easily that we were stupified.
Number 18 swiftly run to the other side but he was blocked by number 5 so he opted to do a three-pointer shoot.
It was too fast that we didn't even felt the act itself, it has easily dispersed in our minds. The sounds of the ball touching the ground echoes around the court as we cheered with plastic bottles thumping on the wall creating a thunderous cheer.
"Go Willmark!"
"That's my classmate!"
"Ah! Go Vicentians!"
Bottles pounding with one another mixed with the yells from the female population that could easily be deduced as a cat hissing in anger made both of my ears rang in pain.
Well, as you can already guess, number 18 is Willmark and yes, he's the one that made the scores tied.
He's indeed passionate and hard-working in his practice, one can see the work he had put into becoming an accomplished player.
I admire him for that, truly, hard workers are the most uncommon thing in this society full of shortcuts and easy money as well as lazy attitudes.
Even so, enough of that - oh he's so amazing and he's such a good player and now I want to be his girlfriend's thoughts- not mine but their thoughts, the game is still ongoing.
"So... who do you think would win?" Evan asked as I shrugged my shoulders before replying.
"Who knows, I hope it'll be our win"
I'm still loyal to my school, after all, I've been here since I was in grade 7. Besides who would even not want their school to win?
The game continued to heighten and even my palms have begun to feel clammy for no reason. The other team called for a time-out and substituted one of their players. Ours had also substitute and the game continued.
Soon, the game tied and it felt like our energies have been sucked out from the players who were obviously still in their prime. Another game would be scheduled today but it wasn't our school so we left. The two basketball team is scheduled to play tomorrow. With that, almost all of the students dispersed as well as us and my other classmates.
The players chugged on their water bottles, their sleeveless shirts clung to their sweaty figures before wiping them down with their towels. I moved my sight away from them only to met gazes with him.
He sends me a wink before grinning, of course, I did what I always do whenever we met gazes, roll my eyes at him.
What a flirt.
...
After class, I and my friends decided to spend the day outside instead of going home early. I mean it's Friday so why not?
I was the only one left since I was assigned by my teacher to check our last week's quiz. My friends waited outside as I finished stacking the checked papers.
I arranged my things and was about to get out of the room when I notice a man's figure hiding in the back of the door.
I stepped closer and was about to ask him what's his deal when he grips my wrist and turned his face towards me before signaling me to be quiet.
I was confused and wanted to take my wrist off of him when a sudden knock from the door interrupted.
His hold immediately slackens off before he shifted close to the door to hide his body.
"Yes?"
There's three male- or should I say males with lips so red and a heart of a female- standing there with their eyes looking around the classroom.
"Is Willmark here?"
Oh.
I forgot to state, Willmark's allure doesn't only take effect on girls but also with guys. Then I thought of a devious thing since he's always teasing me with that oh-so-perfect smile of him and those annoying wink he sent me.
It seems like he just ran from here to get his things but didn't think that he would be cornered by a bunch of his admirers. I stifled a laugh at that and composed myself.
So I purposely looked at his side and stopped my gaze there, the three guys looked in the direction I'm looking at before sending me a grin. They have already seen the signal that I sent, it's up to them to make use of this chance.
"Good luck" I mouthed off to them before sending a wink to Willmark.
I had a full-blown laugh at his expression. Just remembering the look on his face, it's as if I just pushed him to a bunch of starved hyenas without care sends another round of laughter from me.
Well, I had finally executed my revenge.
"Why are you laughing?" Hanie asked, confused at the never-ending grin on my face.
"Let's just say that I had finally got my revenge" I smiled wickedly as the rest of them grew confused but they didn't comment further on my strangeness.
We went to Tintin's place and had a movie marathon. It was all horror movies and the room was filled with our screams and laughter.
Ah, ~ Revenge has been done and the fun has just begun.
