I groaned in my desk as I try to write another paragraph for a reflection paper but alas my English vocabulary has been used up and I couldn't produce any more.It turned to my left and saw my classmate, Alex, who has already finished her essay and is currently on her phone reading Wattpad like every other day.
"Can I look at your essay? I'll just take some inspiration for it" she handed it to me without looking and continued her reading.
That's what everyone does by the way, when you're out of words and thoughts for your essay, just read the work of others and you'll be inspired, sort of.
I also ask her to check my grammar, she nodded and went back to her phone while I finished mine. Our 21st century teacher left us for five minutes, I think she already caught up to what we're planning.
It's already four thirty in the afternoon and were all waiting for the clock to just get to five. The class was already acquainted with each other but they have also, as well as us, have made groups. I think there's already some tension between the class and how do I know that? Well let's just say me and my friends have found a new way of spending time, talking about the newest and juiciest stories, we call it chika minute.
I mean school is a prison for every raging hormonal teenagers who either study or play inside the classroom. It's not all rainbow and sh*ts like that, it's like a bomb in here sometimes, you just need to wait for some time before one of us detonated.
Either way, I think my experience in my high school years is pretty much the same here, it's just more connected to my future job I guess.
"Good bye ma'am! See you on Monday!" Finally!
I organized my stuff, my friends were playfully having a verbal fight with each other while I waved at them.
"Go with your bebe, we're afraid we'll become third wheels!"
"Right! We're just all single ladies in here-" jeline said before she was cut off by her my loves, Pauline.
"Weh? I think I saw a message about andr- hey!" She was cut off when Jeline slapped her hands in her mouth and glared at her.
"Don't worry, I'll try to reta you with my cousins. See ya'll, I'll be with my bebe now!" I left them and walk over his class, thankfully he were just about to leave the class when I got to him.
I waved my hands and smiled at him, instantly his classmates saw me and teased him, patting his back before whistling. I didn't took notice of them and just waited for him to arrive.
"Overtime" he said while I nodded in understanding, I mean there's some teachers that are really passionate to the point that we wanted to tell them that they're overtime.
We went near my classroom since his motorcycle was parked there, then he rode and gave me the helmet. We were about to leave the school grounds and descend in the road when I saw a food stand selling indian mango and mind you, it's my favorite.
"Let's buy that first! I'll eat it at home!" I urged and made him turn back to buy indian mango.
I bought four pieces and wrapped it into plastic bags and placed it inside my bag and then we're on the road.
After I got home, I took the street food I bought and ate it while I scrolled on my phone. I heard the door opening and saw my older brother with a vape in his hands, I wrinkled my nose in disgust but didn't comment on it. He have a vice and we couldn't stop him, we can only ask him to decrease the usage of those vices he have.
Then it was Jerimie who came with a smile on her face, hm, unusual for her to do that but eh. Mom came with Joshua in tow, he's holding a toy, dangling it in the air as if he was saying that I have a new toy. I guess mom was begged until her ears were ringing, therefore bought that toy. Such a pity that the school was littered with toy and food vendors enticing kids to spend their money on it.
I was busy washing the dishes when I heard my mother saying that an explosion happened in davao and that the abu sayaf was the reason for it. I guess war won't ever end, I continued to wash the dishes.
Later that night, I quickly finished my assignments and work on my reviewer. We have a long quiz this Monday and another long quiz in Tuesday. Finishing those things, I went to my bed before saying my goodbye to Willmark.
You know what? It's been three months and some days since he started courting me, it's honestly surreal for me. I mean what are the odds of your crush having a crush on you right?
Besides, he's the most amazing guy I've ever met, well I'm a bit bias about that since he's the guy I truly like but yeah. He's just that amazing. He spend time with me amidst his training and school, he always leave messages that would either make my stomach hurt from laughing or make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world and the fact that he would always bring me food tops all of that.
So I think I'm ready, I think I'm ready to say yes and be his girlfriend, officially.
Notes:
• The slang word chika can mean two things — either something that’s not entirely true (e.g., gossip, rumors, etc) or some new information that your friends are expecting to hear from you. Chika minute is a segment from 24 oras where it's news related to celebrities.
• Bebe, filipino slang for baby, commonly used for endearments.
• Reta or irereta basically means I'll introduce you to my friends or my relatives, it's like a blind date of some sort.
• Mango shrimp paste, they typically use Indian mangoes (what they are called), and the mangoes are cut off the seed, poked onto skewers, and when you order one, the vendor will give your mango a nice spread of shrimp paste.
• September 2 – An explosion rocks a night market in Davao City, where at least 15 people were killed and 70 were reported to have been injured. The Abu Sayyaf claimed responsibility for the attack
• Abu Sayyaf officially known by ISIL as the Islamic State – East Asia Province, is a Jihadist militant and pirate group that follows the Wahhabi doctrine of Sunni Islam.***
