You would think that since it's December, there wouldn't be a lot of things to do in school since Christmas break is just around the corner, wrong!I have to be slapped with numerous research papers and a whole lot of activities and practice for some group works that our lovely teachers just gave to us.
To add up to our numerous activities, our PE teacher decided to have our final test two weeks before Christmas break begin and performe a slow dance.
"Sine our whole class will perform a slow dance, everyone should line up and choose each partners"
The whole class was submerged again with chatters while the rest move the chair to create some space. I got to be partnered with Jeline since there's only seventeen guys out of thirty one girls.
"Where should we practice?"
"What time?"
"I can't come in Saturday"
Ugh, we have to choose where we would practice and we have to set a time and stay late again. Besides, there's a lot of factors to consider since it's a whole class and everyone have their own excuses on why they can't attend today or tomorrow's practice.
I think every teacher are urging us to finish our lessons so that they'll be able to just send us the test papers and go on their merry way after checking our answer sheets. Lucky them, now we have a lot of things to consider and do, just freaking great.
The sun had already been dyed orange, we only have one subject before we leave this classroom.
Our adviser suddenly announced that we'll have a prom this December, they called it an "Enchanted night"
"I'll given the parent consent and ticket to all of you tomorrow. Everyone will give the fee to Jerrylyn and write down their names on the list of payed"
"Je! We're friends right? Mind letting me write my name on it without giving the fee?" One of the troublesome fella in our class asked making our adviser shook her head in helplessness.
"You can't, everyone should participate since it'll be your last prom"
Every student must participate and if they did participate, there will be additional points for the other upcoming tests.
In my head I'm already thinking of the expenses and the difficulties when choosing a dress as well as my survival in the night without any bed to sleep.
But I think today's prom would be entirely different since I have my boyfriend with me, tehee~ I can't stop the dreamy look in my eyes just thinking about the two of us dancing under the bed of stars with a romantic ambience surrounding the two of us.
"Jamie, you're drooling" Georgia pursed her lips as I anxiously wipe my face and see that there's not a drop of drool on my face.
"How dare you lie to me?" I seethed while she laughed, Alex was busy reading Wattpad again and Ange was talking to Irish, the rest were just on their phone.
"I dare, why?"
"Hmph, I'll forgive you today peasant after all you look like you just got dumped by Lenard"
"Bwisit ka Jamie" I laughed so hard looking at her sour face and added another salt to her wounds.
"It's alright, you can vent your heartache to me, I'll take it"
"What? Georgia you're heartbroken?" Alex, our friend that never seems to gets any jokes asked innocently
"Puff, yep, she's in a state of heartache and is currently in need of a new guy preferably those who fit the three M's criteria" I said in a bright tone further angering her to death.
"Go to hell jamie!"
Thankfully our adviser had already left when she shouted or else we'll be in slight trouble. Our adviser was too nice and is just the best adviser we've ever had.
"Can't, weeds don't easily die" then I flashed her an innocent smile before leaving the classroom since our adviser finished the class a bit early.
I walked away with a smile, my steps at ease as I walk like I was on stepping on clouds, so light and carefree.
"What are you smiling about?" Willmark picked his helmet and personally put it on me while I giggled in laughter.
"Well, I just made someone angry again" he smiled and shook his head before driving down the slope.
I lay in my couch as Willmark continued to search for related Literature in their research paper. I on the other hand was just buys scrolling on my news feed when someone on our classroom GC uploaded a video of slow dance.
Well, I think my days are going to be spent with dancing, how marvelous.
"Willmark?"
"Yes?" His head popped out of his cave and looked at me with slight inquiry.
"Is your class also doing a dance performance for your final test in PE?" Since their class is made up of men and no woman can be seen, what would they dance to then?
"We're going to do folk dance, everyone had already decided which dance we should do, how about yours?" He continued typing while I answered.
"Slow dance, jeline's my partner, such a pity" my lashes drop down low while he scoot to my side and asked gently.
"Why?"
"I wanted you to be my partner after all slow dance is perfect for couples" he chuckled beside me while I snuggle close to him together with the pillow he gifted to me.
"We could dance till midnight at prom, you'll come right?" His eyes stared straight at me, penetrating any barriers in my eyes.
"Of course I would, I just think it's a bit too long. We should dance before Midnight struck" I smiled, just imagining the two of us dancing in the middle of the night send a swarm of nerves tingling up my whole body.
"Okay, we'll do what you say"
I smiled at his words, I knew he'll do it since he's a man of his words. Great, now I should finish my homework then.
Notes:
• Buwisit (sometimes spelled bwisit), is a Tagalog expression used for unlucky events, or for something that is a nuisance.
• Gets is a Tagalog slang usually used when asking if the person you're talking to understands your words or what you said.
• Three M's, Matandang (old), Mayaman (rich) and Madaling mamatay (with a short life span)
• Weeds don't easily die, it's a metaphor which means "bad people live longer."***
Fun fact: We did have a performance of slow dance in PE and yes, there is a prom in December that was called enchanted night. I hated it, a bit.Anyways, thank you everyone! I'm off to finish my homework just like jamie! Thank you for the reads! Stay safe and healthy as always okay?!
Have a great day!
