Midterms came in a flurry, my head was buzzing with words upon words from my reviewer. Before midterm came, my friends and I did the group study where we asked about possible questions that would be on the test.Even now I'm still reading my reviewer in fear of forgetting some important information. The classroom was also submerged in reviewing till the last minute, then our adviser arrived and ordered us to arrange the chairs. Bahala na si Batman!
Exam started exactly at eleven in the morning, first subject is math and my head's already hurting from the numerals and alien like formulas. As I go on with he test, there are times where the answer that I got from solving isn't in the choices, if it is indeed there it would be one point less or more than I got.
Time was limitless at that day, I feel like it's been forever since we finished the three exams and were given the time to buy food in the canteen. I met up with Willmark and went with him to he canteen, chatting about the test on the way.
"Math's the first test, ugh! I'm not really sure about my answers" he gave me the bottle of water already opened.
"There's still seven exams left, you don't need to worry, you've already done your best" I smiled at his words and clasped his hands on mine.
"Thanks, how about yours?" He just shrugged and smiled at me with a slight arrogance on it.
"I think I'll be on the top ten after this"
"I think I'll be blown away from the wind" I joked making him chuckle and we then continued to eat.
There's only one test left and we're all ready to finish it, but of course I wouldn't be able to go home that easily since we still have to finish our practice for PE. We will be performing a zumba dance for our midterms test in PE.
"Finally!" I shouted and collapsed on my desk, then I saw our group leader for PE chasing our male group mates and slipped a groan.
Since it's only half day when it's exams, they decided to just finish our practice since we would showcase our performance on PE in Friday.
I can't come home with you together, I have practice today (insert teary eyed emotion)
All right, just message me in case you change your mind
I smiled foolishly at him before I was nudged by my Ange, her mouth is pursed in a teasing smile.
"What?" I arrogantly ask at her.
"Is it Willmark?" I nodded at her and she instantly tsked at me "I knew it, your face just lit up and look at that smile- you look like a fool" I just slapped her hand earning a laugh from her.
"Always Willmark, what about us?" Jeline asked and I replied at her playfully.
"Who are you?"
Jeline's face wrinkled as she harrumphed me while I laughed at her. The rest of my friends joked about them being single whole I show off my relationship with Willmark making them more bitter. After that, I was called by our PE leader and was soon out of the classroom.
...
It's finally the weekend, the long awaited moment after a full week of practice and reviewing. I feel like I've become gurang after last week's experience.
Me and Willmark had already planned today's date, we're going to Robinson's cainta mall and just have a date. Mom told us to be safe before she went out to finish her work. My brother was out with his girlfriend, it seems like it's just my mom, my sister and my younger brother will stay here at home.
"Bye mom! We'll be eloping then!"
"Jamie!" Mom shouted angrily as I laughed at her, Willmark on the other hand coughed making me burst into another series of laughter.
After that, we drove towards cainta, thankfully there's not much traffic and so we have arrived there in an hour and a half. The weather was fair and as soon as we get inside the mall, the cold wind from the aircon blew into our faces. We went up and decided to play in the arcade and play games together.
"Let's have a bet in here!" I pointed out at the basketball game.
"Are you sure?" He asked with a smirk in his lips, his hands were busy fiddling with the ball with such fluid movements.
I glared at him and pushed the token into the basketball machine and started the game. I was screeching at some point and eventually screamed louder when I surpassed the highest score on the board. I looked at Willmark with a boastful smile when I saw him seriously playing basketball. I was transfixed at him when he suddenly looked up and sent a blinding smile on my direction that shot through my heart in just a second.
No fair! I turn my body to the game with vigour and felt my body getting drained from energy from too much jumping. My arms felt like jello and my body is slightly covered in sweat, it feels like I just ran a marathon after this game.
"What's your score?" I ask Willmark, slightly panting as I sat on the cold hard floor.
"Definitely higher than yours" I harrumphed and didn't look at it, I already knew the scores, I'm very competitive and the fact that he plays basketball just isn't fair to me.
He told me to wait for him, I just sat there for about three minutes till he came with a milk tea on his hand. He gave it to me as I muttered a thank you before sighing blissfully at the cold drink.
"So, what do you want me to do?" I asked him then took a sip on my milk tea.
"Hmmm... I'm still not sure, I'll just think about it later" then he finished it off with a mysterious smile, now I'm feeling a bit unsettled about this.
"Don't you dare tell me to do strange things!" I wag my finger at him before he burst out in laughter.
"You're just making me want to do it more" I slapped his chest while he continued to laugh, then I laughed along with him like the fool we are.
Soon, we drove back home, I waved goodbye at him before collapsing on my bed. I admit that this date definitely unstressed me out but in the end, it tired me. Even so, I'm still hapoy at the fact that we've been together again after the last tumultuous week.
