School resumed after our almost a month vacation ended, we started to get bombarded once more with activities and finishing our research paper.Willmark was truly busy since he only have himself to count on and the fact that there's still some activities as well that he have to finish. I'm a bit busy too but I'm not drowning in school activities as the others so I took the time to help him with his research paper.
Today, I'm facing the large pool that extends a long way here in Cableway resort, our teacher told us that we'll do a swimming activity. It's cold, it's almost February and the first and second month are the cold season here in the Philippines. I really don't think I would like to be submerged into a pool filled with chlorine and mix into that pool together with the rest of my classmates.
I really don't want to but I will if it is for grades.
We all went to the restroom and changed our clothes into swimwear. I walked barefoot on the cold and stony ground before our teacher called us to take a picture of us. I saw three of our classmates who just got here and our PE teacher just looked at them before urging them to come over.
"Before we go into the pool, you must listen to my words okay? Those who cannot swim, go and grab the slab there and those who can will be immediately tested"
We ushered into a line and awaited for his orders, it didn't take too long before he opened his lips. First we were told to practice holding our breath underwater then we repeated it till he told us to stop. Then he told us to flap our feet inside the water and to stay afloat, my arms were already sore from trying to stay afloat, even my stomach was flexing from tightness.
"Now, we will do a test on properly holding your breath underwater then the posture for winning and the last is swimming itself"
"Sir! How about those who can't swim?" Yeah, how about us, I still don't know how to swim.
"I'll give those a paddle board and swim halfway and then turn back but of course to those who can still swim need to finish"
After that we we're handed paddle boards and the students who clearly knows what their doing started but of course it's ladies first which I don't want to happen.
"Jamie, do you know how to swim?"
"I don't" Alex laughed as she asked Ange and the rest of our friends. "Hmph, I have Willmark to save me from drowning so no, I'll be fine!" Then I went to the next lane and breathed in and out.
"Go jamie!"
"Go bebe ni Willmark!"
I rolled my eyes at them and then breathed for the last time before diving into the pool. The cold water clung to my clothes, droplets of water continuously splashed on me as I paddle my feet with vigor. I don't want to finish this halfway so I continued even though my eyes already blurry and the fact that I also drank some water from the pool which is absolutely disgusting.
I finished the test without turning back halfway, I think me accidentally drinking the water on the pool is kind of worth it now.
...
February arrived and almost every couple is expecting some kind of surprise or gift from their significant other. I on the other hand may have a teeny bit expectation but I can understand that we may not celebrate Valentine's day today due to the numerous amount of things to finish and start this month.
