It's Thursday and it means Physical Education day, our PE teacher assigned us in groups and tasked us to practice our skill on bowling. We're bowling today and I have not yet tried it. I belong to group three and our teacher called for some boyd in our class to bring the 'bowling pins' which is just a set of 1.5 coke bottle filled with water.
"Okay everyone, settle down! Separate girls from boys and we'll do this alphabetically okay? Now line up!"
All of us lined up alphabetically, we each held a plastic ball and before we strike the bowling pins, our PE instructor taught us how to strike the pins and where our feet should be. Not long after, the coke bottles were already placed just a few meters from us.
"Remember what I taught you, also, your scores for today's quiz will reflect on how many pins you've strike!"
"Sir what if we didn't strike any pins?" Out class president asked and we look at our instructor.
"Then you're zero, you only have three chance. Now let's start, ladies first!"
Some girls groaned, even I did since I'm in the first row, my scores would reflect my quiz and that's kind of pressuring.
Then it was my turn, I did what our instructor taught us but unfortunately my leg was too stiff and the ball was too light that it was blown away before it hit the pins.
Just great.
I watch my classmates do the same thing, when one got four pins almost all of us clapped and shouted, then it was my turn again and thankfully I got six pins out of three tries.
"Next week we'll be going to brcc, same rules applied, class dismissed"
Everyone dispersed, me and my friends went out the gates together and turn right to buy street foods. I've been craving kwek-kwek and cheese stick yesterday but it was sold out so I didn't get one.
"Penge" I looked at emil's pitiful face and sprayed saliva on my cheese sticks before offering it to him with an innocent smile.
"Jamie! You're too much!" He stomped off before going to Ange and asking for a piece.
We're huddling here, trying to finish our food since we can't bring it to the building, they say that food from outside is not allowed.
Hmph, what a waste.
Before long, we arrived to our class and sat with our newly bought wooden table that is as long as eight rulers. Because of that, we're huddled all over since it's not just us who are sitting in this table. We have three long tables that we bought with our own money and the grade 11 students money too.
Since we're all enclosed in a tight space, copying each other's answer is as easy as blinking. Great.
...
Saturday rolled out and here I am facing Willmark's handsome face as he hand me a colored paper envelope brimming with letters.
I looked up to him in confusion and was about to open my lips to ask him the reason for giving me a gift when he bit me into it.
"I just wanted to give you that uh... it was long overdue since I've been into games" he scratched the back of his head and smiled at me sheepishly, I could see the growing redness in his ears making me giggle.
"What? You shouldn't have but... thank you" I smiled sweetly at him, my heart beating profusely as I took it from his hands.
He was unable to visit here this past weeks since he was practicing about the upcoming intrams and the fact that he was playing against several baranggays though I was also unable to see it due to some conflicts on practices and activities.
"Don't!" I held a questioning look while he pursed his lips and muttered. "Open it when I leave, hm?" Of course I couldn't help but tease him and tried to open the envelope when he held my hand firmly.
"Fine, fine, I won't. Happy now?" I mused out loud, he just nodded in return as I put the envelope in the drawer. Then we turn back to watching "Kita Kita" on my phone.
My eyes gushed when tonyo, the male lead got hit by a vehicle and died. It's just a pity that when she could finally see, the first thing she saw was his smile and then it was gone.
"Cry baby, here" a rumble of laughter came from Willmark as he handed me a tissue. I wiped my tear stained face and slipped his chest.
"Hmph! It was just too sad!" I pouted but then relaxed when he gently combed my hair.
After that, I fell asleep and it was already morning, he must have left already. I stood up and washed my face, my eyes were a bit puffy from crying but it wasn't that noticeable.
Then I remembered his gift and pulled my drawer, the envelope was placed neatly on top of my portfolios and I opened it.
It was a long piece of letter, it was written on a portfolio and the length is as long as from top to the bottom of our stairs.
I read each single word, my smile continued to grow and I couldn't help but think of how much effort and how time consuming this is. Just thinking of each individual letter, every paragraph that was written on the portfolio and how each letter represents his feelings for me just makes my heart burst into joy.
I didn't expect him to do this, especially for a man to be this creative. He always pamper me with gifts, food and care as well as love. Seriously, I really am falling for him.
Each day I spent with him, each time we spend together with our mini dates and our food trips is something that I'll treasure forever. Just being this close with him gets me into an overdrive of emotions. It feels like I'm being slowly filled up with his affections, that I'm being held by a warm teddy bear, so gentle and caring.
He's all I admire and I couldn't think of any man better than him.
