Days passed in a whim, our role play was a success amidst the embarrassment and the moments where you just want to burst out in laughter from your classmates teasing.P.E. was hell for those who lack energy but for me, I lived for it. I mean I always play badminton or basketball with my cousins and I would rather get tired from my body than my mind.
In the other hand, me and my friends from grade ten cannot meet each other everyday since our work in school has doubled but is still bearable.
Today is the twentieth of August, Sunday and I'm currently working on my power point presentation for tomorrow's report. I don't need to take my laptop with me on school since we have our small tv though it's only for school purposes. We pitched in to buy that TV and it's currently residing in our adviser's office.
The weather's turning cold and that's either a good thing since our days would be cold and we don't need to turn our electric fan on or our AC. The bad thing is that it'll rain, the ground would be muddy and people would rather be in their home than to go out of their house.
I rubbed my eyes and closed my laptop before stretching my neck and my body from seating on a long period of time. Then I collapsed in my bed, watched any funny videos on youtube and just relaxed myself. I plan to study my report after finishing my power point presentation.
I look at my messenger and found that the president of our class is planning for Tuesday's character parade for the "Buwan ng wika". She's asking for volunteers to help her build the placards and some make-up artist for the parade. Ours would be princess Urduja and Raja Indarapata. I didn't scroll furthermore since I'm not the type of student who would busy herself over events like that and the process of doing those, not a chance.
I was about to open my laptop when my phone buzzed indicating a call from someone- oh, it's from Willmark. I clicked the answer logo and immediately smiled at the screen.
"Missed me?"
"Very much" Asus! What a smooth talker! Fine, I admit defeat, I just knew that I couldn't compare with this big headed guy's flowery mouth.
"So... something the matter?" I tugged at my blanket and cuddled the pillow he gifted to me a month ago.
Seriously, he's pampering me so much with food and gifts, he also makes sure that he's spending time with me and the fact that he always drive me to school and to home. The fact that he still have a great relationship with my family just warms my heart, I also like the fact that he's exerting effort and respects me.
"Just wanted to talk to you"
"Seriously, I almost forgot- how's your leg?" I almost forgot about his leg injury, he got injured a week before. I think the poor referee got injured more after I cursed him out in my head when Willmark got injured due to that player from the opposing team.
"I'm fine now, don't frown or else you'll get ugly" hmph! I'm just worrying about you! How can I get ugly with just a frown, I don't think that's enough to get this beautiful face of mine turn ugly.
My plan to study about my report has vanished into air, great.
...It seems like the weather has been cooperative with today's character parade. Though it's just partly sunny, I think it's perfect since it won't make us sweat in buckets and probably waste the amount of effort and money that was out on those students who are a part of the parade.
The parade just started, the students each have their phones on their hands as they recorded the parade. Of course I have mine too and I fought my way over the front line to take pictures and videos of Willmark.
He's the male lead character in florante and laura and is dressed like a prince, now he looks like one of those male lead characters in disney. He look so handsome in his costume that my thumb hurt from clicking on the camera button repeatedly. Since their class is all guys, one of their classmates is dressed like a girl.
"Dang! I didn't knew there's a girl in their class!"
"Lodi! There's already a winner in here!"
"I applaud you lodi! You're the one!"
Everyone laughed at the poor guy, even I couldn't stop laughing from the look of unwillingness on his face. I bet he'll be famous after this is over. Now I feel a teeny bit happy that there's no girls in their class though I also feel bad for the poor guy.
We don't have classes for today but we cannot leave the school grounds and we're also ushered into the court to watch them strut in stage.
Me and my friends were huddled into the court, my bag on the floor as I covered it with a sheet of paper as well as my seat. We screamed when it's our classmates turn to walk and I screamed even harder when it's Willmark's turn.
The program finished and I immediately rushed to his side, although Willmark's just the third runner up, he's the winner in my heart.
"Good job! You did so good there!" I watched him wipe his sweat and makeup, his sharp features softened after the make-up was removed. He smiled at me and I showed him the photos I took of him.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, such a handsome gal isn't he?" He looked at me with bright eyes as I nodded my head.
"Yes, yes, he is handsome" I concede on his smugness, for now since he won and because he really is handsome in this picture.
Of course I would say that it's because of the lighting and the makeup as well as the way I shot the picture that made him handsome but I'm just lying then. I won't say those words out loud or else his head will get so big after that.
After the parade, the students who joined the spoken poetry and the poster making, me and the rest of the students watched the activities in the stage. There's also a dance segment and role playing which decreased our boredom, for now.
All in all, this day just got better when I was handed a burger and a drink bought by the one and only Willmark.
