A week has gone by in a flash and before I knew it, I was already looking at the mass of students proudly displaying their own batch t-shirt in several unique designs and hues.I briskly walked towards the queue of people in front of me and managed to not hit and to not get hit by anyone. Then I saw a familiar shade of color and immediately walked over the line.
I turned and there I saw my friends standing on the side. My name was called by Allan before I jogged over to them. My eyes habitually searched for a tall and big headed guy, it's a pity after wandering for a full minute I still haven't found him.
"Looking for someone?"
"Ah! You scared me!" His face wrinkled from my shriek, I immediately slapped his arm before glaring at him. "What the hell was that?!"
"Well- uh- I guess I just wanted to surprise you?"
"You mean surprise me to death?" I glared fiercely at him before huffing.
"Sorry?" Then he tilted his head and almost gave me another heart attack when he beamed a heart stopping smile.
Ugh! So unfair! He must have unconsciously knew I'll forgive him that easily with just one smile from him!
Then we were ushered into a line and before I knew it, we were like trains that were about to steer to another place.
One by one, the principal and the teachers shared their word to us though it feels like it's some sort of farewell message. I watched the people beside me, they weren't really listening to the teaches above giving their speech, some were even more brazen to take their phones out, I guess that's one thing that would never change.
Soon, the game commenced and the silent students shoot up in vigor before sharing their joy with ear splitting roars.
For today's game, it'll be two days of Larong Pinoy, each sections will compete for the most wins. The game is sectioned into three rounds, the winners of each round will compete until there's only one winner. The game consists of: Patintero, Chinese garter, tumbang preso and batuhang bola.
"Players of Patintero, please come here so we can now start the game. I repeat, players of Patintero, please come here so we can start the game!" The announcer said in the microphone letting everyone to hear it clearly.
"Brix- what the- stop playing! You're supposed to go to the stage! You're one of the players!" Our class vice president shouted to Brix as he laughed along with the rest of the guys.
I looked to the reason of their laughter and burst in chortles when I see Carl with a katchupoy hair style.
Brix and the rest of the guys came over the stage, the rest of the class sat on the steel like stairs. Of course I didn't sat without wiping it clean and without placing a piece of paper on my seat, after all numerous shoes have stepped on it.
The game started, it was obvious that people weren't really interested but we aren't supposed to leave the gymnasium. Just imagining the rest of our day inside this hot place and just wasting our times over watching people play makes me groan in helplessness.
