The sunlight peeked through the small slit of space from the curtains, the AC was humming alone on the four walls as I opened my asleep eyes and let out a not so lady like groan. My feet tangled up with the sheets as I stretch my whole body like an elastic band and let out another yawn before sitting up.I continued to rub on my eyes before standing up and washed my face before going downstairs to cook for breakfast. I'm not a princess in this house, certainly not so yes, I do have some chores to do.
Mom told me to cook for breakfast today since she'll be buying groceries in Binangonan public market. My brother's isn't here since he's currently working in a cafe so I'm in charge in this house.
I'm gonna cook hotsilog today for breakfast. First, I fried seven pieces of hotdog and five pieces of sunny side eggs before mincing the garlic and throwing it in the pan. Then I put the leftover rice into the pan and seasoned them with salt and magic sarap then add a bit of soy sauce and it's finish.
"Breakfast is served!" I shouted upstairs before coming down, seconds passed Jerimie came down with an intact frown on her face and Joshua who continuously rub his eyes in drowsiness.
"Ate, where's mama?"
Joshua looked at me and asked, Jerimie on the other hand eat on her own.
"Mom's in the market place, I'm sure she'll arrive before the afternoon"
True to my words, mom did arrive before the clock strikes afternoon and she collapsed in the couch. Her face brimming with sweat while she ask for water.
"Here mom" she gulped it in one go before sighing and standing up to organize the things she bought.
It's eleven in the afternoon and the game will start in one, so there's still four hours for me, besides I have another appointment for our church meeting this four in the afternoon.
I'm a christian and has been one in a long time, me and my family was once a Catholic but changed it in the later years.
I've already thought of a plan to avoid getting potentially teased by Willmark's teammates and that is to get my friends with me. Besides, it's Sunday and there's nothing much to do considering the non existent amount of assignments we do not have.
They gladly replied yes and we decided to meet in 7-11, the famous meeting place for students.
I just need to tell my mom and hope she wouldn't decline, it's the first time that I was invited to a game and the fact that the guy who invited me is the guy I like so yes, I can not let this opportunity waste.
"Mom, me and my friends were invited to a basketball game in bilibiran, can I go? It's only two hours so I'll be able to go to church this afternoon" I reasoned out and waited for her reply before she looked at me.
"Did you do the dishes? Did you swept the floors? Did the laundry and cleaned your room?" I nodded my head like a pecking chick before she allowed me to go.
Yes!
...
The games already starting when we arrive in Bilibiran court, it wasn't as big as the court in VMNHS but it was still wide enough to accommodate the mass of people watching the game.
Bool, Evan, Hanie, Enard, Allan, Hao and Brix came, Tintin can't go unfortunately since she needs to guard on their fruit store.
The game seems to be a match for two Barrangays, Palangoy and Bilibiran. Willmark's number eighteen and his jersey is the color of the ocean. He's the point guard in their team and is in defense.
The game continued with both scores of 15 and 16 with just one difference in score but it seems like the other team is catching up. I was on my seat, gripping both of my hands as I sweated in nervousness.
Then another player crashed into him and I almost stood up and run to him but was held by Hao. I looked at him while he mouthed off, he's okay, but the fast beat of my heart begun to rang louder as I but my upper lip in anxiety.
He should stop now, why is he still playing? What if he's hurt and his bones break? There's so many negative thoughts in my head but when I saw him getting up, I cheered so loud my friends look at me sideways.
"Get up! You can do it!" I didn't care but just cheered him up more as my friends decided to shout with me along with other spectators.
Fortunately, the referee gave the ball to him and performed a free throw. He managed to score two points and I was soon jumping up and down along with the rest of my friends.
After almost an hour of playing, the game ended with them scoring two points ahead of the opposing team. Then another match begun but I already told my friends that I wouldn't be able to watch since I still have to go to church today.
I was about to leave the court when someone called my name and I immediately turned around. It was Willmark, he was still sweating buckets as he walk towards me with a grin.
"You came" he smiled and breathed heavily as I watch him with a nervous smile.
"Yep, you invited me so..." I trailed off before meeting gazes with him and looking down on the ground.
Jamie! What the hell are you acting shy for?! You were nerver like this- this shy type of person but when you're with him you act like a snail who wants nothing but to get inside her shell! Ugh!
"I'm glad you came" he grinned again, his gaze on me was too sticky I couldn't even look at him in fear of embarrassment.
Then I heard his teammates calling him and ushered him to the court with a smile before leaving the place.
Ha, this secret infatuation of mine will be the death of me.
