Rami POV~~

It was dark. Cold. 

My eyelids felt heavy, the weight was subtle but it took all my strength for them to even flinch. They wouldn't open. My body felt numb, I couldn't feel anything, nothing at all. 

All of a sudden my ears picked up on a very abrupt sound that filled the room. I began to feel warm again, feel something again. 

I heard a voice, one that was perfectly raspy and one that shook my chest when it entered my ears. 

"What are you doing, Alison?" 

I heard it clearly, it was a sound of both confusion, guilt and anger. 

He took sharps breaths and his magic power felt alive, free, angry. It felt like it had a mind of it's own and his body was holding it back, from unleashing something that was never meant to be unleashed. 

I heard his steps and felt his presence coming closer to the bed, closer to me. My back arched slightly as another presence lingered over my body and extracted the blood from my face. 

The presence that was ignored at first, who irrelevantly put herself in between him and I. 

"Alison," I groaned and forced my eyes to flip open, looking into her wretched, golden eyes. The blood rushed to my face in an instant causing me to feel light headed. I reached up and caressed my head, but still felt my own arms on the side of my body. 

In realisation, there wasn't any movement from me, it was from him, he was caressing my head. I sighed as his scent filled the inside of my nose, resulting me to huff in satisfaction. 

"Rami," 

The voice, husky and choked up, sounding like his throat held a knot. 

My eyes fell close once again, revealing the darkness that was now warm. 

Laxus POV~~

I quickly rushed to her side and placed my hand on her soft locks, gently running my fingers through them. 

"Rami." 

I wanted to say more, I wanted to do more but the urge to fight was no longer in me. Why was I  giving up?

"So what are you going to do to me?" Alison asked, eyeing my hand on Rami's head.

 "Tell me what you were doing to her." I voiced, instead of answering her question. "We were just having a cha-" She started. 

"Don't fucking lie to me Alison." I changed my tone towards her because I was now beginning to see why Rami was so obsessed over staying away from her. 

"Why her? Why hurt Rami? I don't want to see you like this Alison, I don't know what you're trying to do but I don't want this for her, or me anymore. Just go."

I clenched my eyes close and opened them to see that the window was wide open and Alison had disappeared. I had a history with her, I felt something for Alison at some point but I wanted to be with her. The one that made me feel like I belonged, even if I didn't. 

I wanted to be with Rami, so why was it so damn hard?

Flashback~~

"Laxus! Let go of me," Alison giggled as I wrapped my arms around her waist. "Be quiet we don't wanna be spotted." I said and placed my hand over her mouth. The bush we were hiding behind was shielding the view from the town bandits. They were loading the stolen goods in the back of the carriage and we were about to bust their asses.
