The Basilisk

After seeing Draco last night, I couldn't help but cry to sleep, I was still heartbroken, how could he ask me to date him then go kiss Pansy.

I pushed my feelings to the side when I saw Harry and Ron during breakfast.

"YOU'RE ALIVE," I ran to them and smacked both of them.

"What was that for mate," said Ron. "I didn't even get an update last night, I thought you both died, tell me what happened though," I said.

They explained how the spiders lead them to the spider hollow and from their they met Aragog, a giant ancient spider. Ron told my how the spiders were going after them once they were done talking to Aragog,

"It was bloody scary, I saw my life flash before my eyes," Ron exaggerated. He continued and told me they managed to escape and figured I was sleeping so they didn't want to bother me.

We went to visit Hermione, we watched her again, laying there, petrified. I went to grab her hand when I noticed something. I pulled out a crumpled up piece of paper.

I looked at the paper and read it, it looked like a paper from a book. "Harry look," I said handing him the paper.

He read it and his eyes widened, "This is it!" He said. He said how the spiders mentioned the monster that was within the chamber of secrets was a great fear for them, he read off the paper the same thing the spider mentioned only this time we had the name of the monster.

It was a Basilisk, a snake that kills people by looking at them in the eye.

"But none of them are dead, only petrified," I said. "They all didn't look at the monster directly,  everyone looked at the monster through something, the first year had his camera, and Hermione her mirror," he said. 

Harry mentioned something the spiders told him and soon enough we were in the girls bathroom. He started talking to moaning Myrtle how she died.

We heard Professor McGonagall's voice throughout the school.

"All students must return to their house dormitory at once."

Of course Ron, Harry, and I didn't listen and went to see what was going on.

"A student has been taken into the chamber of secrets," we heard her say as she told the other professors.

We heard Professor sprout ask who got taken.

"Ginny Weasley," we looked at Ron to see him paralyzed, his sister was taken. Ron was obviously upset and started questioning why she got taken.

"Ginny's a pure-blood Harry, she must have known something," Ron said. Harry tried to reassure him that Ginny will be okay, we walked to Professor Lockharts classroom to see what he was going to do about this.

We enter his class and see him packing. I looked at him shocked. "You're our defense against dark arts teacher! You can't leave, you need to help save Ginny!" I yell.

He basically confirmed he lied in his books and I felt so stupid ever looking up to him. He tried erasing our memory but Harry pulled out his wand faster. I pulled mine out and so did Ron.

We walked to the girls bathroom with Lockhart being pointed at with our wands. Harry looked around and finally saw it. A snake on one of the faucets.

Harry had to talk in Parseltongue in order to open the chamber. It took him a while but he managed. We all looked at each other knowing we had to do this to save Ginny.

We threw Lockhart in and then after went ourselves.
