The Chamber of Secrets

We were at the bottom of the entrance to the chambers of secrets. We used our wands for light and Harry reminded us if we noticed any movement we would close our eyes.

We found the shedding of the basilisk, it was huge. Ron was distracted and Lockhart took his wand,

"Obliviate!" He said, with Ron's broken wand the spell backfired and made rocks fall down causing for him to be stuck with Lockhart. Harry and I screamed for Ron to see if he was okay.

Once we heard him talk we calmed down a bit. He tell us Lockhart got hit by the wand and he slowly starts waking up when Ron hits him over the head knocking him out.

"We'll find Ginny," I said.

We walked down and found a wall, Harry opened it with his Parseltongue and we walked in. We walked in and see stone serpents on each side surrounded by black water. We see that in the middle there's a statue of Salazar Slytherin.

We spot Ginny and I run to her. "Ginny! Wake up, Ginny!" I shake her but she won't get up.

"She won't wake up," I heard someone say. Harry looks over and find Tom Riddle. He asks if Ginny is still alive he says yes but barely.

He tells us his a memory that was preserved in the notebook for 50 years. Tom took Harry's wand and when Harry asks for help to take Ginny out Tom says no.

"As she gets weaker I get stronger," he said. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HER!" I yell. He looks over to me and stares with curiosity.

Harry grabbed his attention and Tom explained how Ginny had been writing to him for days. Every secret and worry Ginny told him he'd feed off from it and grow stronger.

He told us Ginny was the one behind everything. She wrote the writing on the walls, opened the chamber of secrets, and was behind everyone being attacked.

He put her under a trance to do these things, Ginny would never I thought to myself. Tom tells us he told Ginny what to do and she'd do it, when she got scared of the notebook she tried getting rid of it but Harry found it. Tom wanted to finish Salazars' work.

Harry explained how everyone who was attacked was going to get better, but Tom no longer wanted them, he wanted Harry. He started talking about how Ginny didn't want Harry to know it was her. He started questioning Harry how he survived the killing curse and only left with a scar.

Harry looked confused but asked why it matter to him. Tom wrote his name and it sorted out of place to write,

"I am Lord Voldemort"

Harry and I looked at each other shocked with what we saw. Tom was the heir of Slytherin. In comes in Fawkes, Dumbledores defender, and it drops the sorting hat.

Tom laughs and starts talking to the statue of Slytherin. The mouth of the statue opens up and and out comes the Basilisk. Harry and I turn around trying not to get petrified.

I hold onto Ginny and pull her out of the way, Harry tells me to back away since Tom ordered the Basilisk to kill Harry. Harry runs away as the Basilisk is only after him right now. I stay with Ginny with slight hope she'll wake up.

I heard the basilisk roar and Fawks screech. I'm blinded, I can't see what's going on, and I can only hope Harry stays safe. Harry runs back in and I hear Tom talk.

"In a few minutes Ginny will die"

I look down at her and tears start forming. She can't die I think to myself. I hug Ginny closer tears falling down my face now. The basilisk comes back inside and he starts climbing the statue to get away from it.

Harry reaches towards the sorting hat and takes out a sword. Harry attacks the basilisk and he looked so tired. As the basilisk attacks Harry puts the sword in its mouth and raises it up to the roof of its mouth. "HARRY!" I yell after seeing the basilisk attack him. A fang in his arm now, I see him holding onto his arm, I see him heading to the book.

Harry takes the fang from his arm. "Stop don't do that!" Tom yells. I watch Harry stab the book with the fang. I watch Tom become nothing but a blur, until he vanished.

I feel Ginny move in my arms and see her color come back to her skin.

"Harry!" I yell. He comes towards us and looks at Ginny. She starts sobbing and tries to explain she didn't want to do the things she did. Harry hugs her and tells me to take her to Ron. I do as he said and he stays behind.

Harry come after a while and I notice his arm is better, he tells us how Fawks healed him with his tears.

We look over to Lockhart now awake. "He has no idea where or who he is," Ron said. Fawks helps us out of the chambers and we go to Dumbledore. We explain everything then Ginny tries to explain herself but Dumbledore tells her she has endured enough and asks Ron and I to take her to the hospital wing.

I had some bruising and cuts but nothing major. I watch the Weasley twins run inside to see Ginny. Fred looks at me and runs over to me.

He puts his forehead on my forehead, "I'm glad you're okay," he said before going to Ginny.

Harry comes over to us and explains everything that happened. He tells me we all earned 200 points each for our house. He tells us how Hagrid will be coming back soon as well. He also tells us how the only reason he can speak to snakes is because a part of Voldemort is within him.

He told us how He saw Mr. Malfoy and Dobby. He freed Dobby from serving the Malfoy family and I smiled at him.

Harry truly is something else, I thought to myself.
After a couple of days we're in the great hall now, I was sitting with Harry and Ron and we see Hermione at the door. We stand up and she runs to us. I give her a huge hug and so does Harry but Ron gives her a handshake.

Hagrid comes in as well and Harry hugs him.

Dumbledore announces Gryffindor won the house cup and I clap as I see them all cheer.

The last day of my second year. I smile looking at Hogwarts and board the train.
