Chapter 18: The Tapestry of Good and Evil
Orion paced his cave, thinking. Soon, himself, Sapphire, Hunter, and Andromeda would be talking to Midnight and Birch about the Tapestry of Good and Evil. He knew that they had found out something about it, but he didn't know what, but he did know it was something important. Very important. "There you are, Orion," Andromeda said, when he finally entered the room. "I was wondering where you had disappeared to." Didn't you tell me to leave? Orion nodded swiftly and took his place next to Hunter. Midnight was in the middle of this "circle," with Birch, and they were both looking incredibly nervous. When Andromeda finally nodded at them, they both bit looked at each other for a long moment, seemingly having a discussion, then they looked at their paws, and back up at Andromeda. "I'll go first," Midnight said. Her paws were shuffling on the ground nervously. "When I looked at the Tapestry of Good and Evil, I got this strange feeling that something was off, and something eerie was coming. There were lots of words and sentences on it that I didn't understand; lots of sayings, that I wished I knew the true meaning of. So I thought a bit, and... "I realized that the tapestry was made by Ina and her daughter, Queen Estella. She had been the first Queen of Findrut, many generations ago, and the day before her coronation, she had made the tapestry with Ina. It was obvious that Ina was a fortune teller—everyone knew that—so the Tapestry of Good and Evil had to have something to do with the future. The question was what. "I took time to see what all the words were, and all the sentences. They were written in the ancient wolf language; I was lucky that my mother had taught me all about it, how to read it, how to speak it, and how to write it. So that day, I memorised every saying and every word, and I thought about why Ina and Queen Estella would choose such a title for it—the tapestry. "Then, when Borealis was telling me that Birch found the Tapestry of Good and Evil eerie and mystical too, and I told him what I generally thought, and he told me what Birch thought, it suddenly came to me, so quickly I think I jumped. It was the future, of course, but how? How was it the future? "The tapestry shows wolves fighting. Lots of wolves dead, lots alive, and they are all fighting. The wolves in the lighter shade are the good wolves, and the ones that are a darker shade are the evil wolves. A bit stereotypical, I know, but the wolves in those days were stereotypical, through and through. The saying above all of this was the saying that was the biggest: the sky became the stars, and the wind became the roots. It all made sense after that. It was showing us, the Skystar Rebellion, fighting Queen Cora's forces! I have no idea why they were compared with wind, and why Ina said they'd become roots, but it was obvious that we are the sky who became the stars: the Skystar Rebellion! It was easy to figure out." She paused, shuffling. "That's my story." Her words were met by silence. Pure silence, with each wolf shocked to their core. Orion stared at her with awe and respect, something he'd only ever shown Andromeda before, and Midnight, who now looked very uncomfortable, was gazing at her feet. She looked up two minutes later, and signalled to Birch to say his story. "Oh—oh, I don't have that much. I just knew it was Ina, too, and I suspected it was the future," he stammered, speechless and struck by his fellow seer's (Orion thought they were seers, at least) speech. Andromeda nodded briskly. "Thank you, guys. Birch, that's a great assumption, and Midnight, you've given us a lot to think about tonight. You can all go back to your caves." Everyone began to leave. Orion followed, but not before touching Andromeda's nose with his own in a goodbye. Maybe it was time to end the awkwardness.

Here's another of them! As you can see, Midnight has just explained her thoughts in detail, giving all the wolves a lot to think about. But, guys, this is obviously made by Ina, and her daughter, Queen Estella, and Ina's a fortune teller. It shows that there's a vicious battle, but exactly what is the outcome? Just after I published this, some read this immediately, and messaged me, saying that exact thing. So this Author's Note comes out after I published this chapter. Thanks!
