Chapter 35: To Head South
"Okay, guys," Aurora, leader of Team Five, yelled over the noise. The noise stopped as she began to speak, Midnight behind her. "We're heading south, to Halder. If you don't know what that is, it's the territory of Queen Wisp and King Castor. So, basically, we're heading south. Everybody clear?" Everyone nodded. Horizon's face took on one of excitement, but it was nothing compared to Robin's, which contained a look of pure joy. Ruby stayed behind them, weary. "Stay close to each other and me," she said. "Halder is unfamiliar territory. They're lovely wolves, but it's not a good time to trust anybody, especially someone so near to Findrut." Horizon nodded as Aurora began to walk, the rest of Team Five following her.

"This, is Halder," Aurora announced. "Be careful where you step. I predict there are many thorns that will injure here." Midnight added. Then she said, "oh, I predicted I would say that to you." Horizon looked around. Unlike Findrut, which was entering the heart of winter, Halder's snow had already melted halfway. Flowers were beginning to bloom, sprouting from the ground, and the bare trees had already started to grow leaves. A couple willow trees were already fully clothed in their vines and silvery-green leaves, what they draped over the branches. It didn't take Horizon long to pick up the scent of a female wolf, and a large army of wolves behind her. They were getting closer-now, Horizon could pick up the scent of a male with the female, and that they were the queen and the king. He could pick up the scents of the royals, and the soldiers. "Do you think it's them?" Robin asked, nudging Horizon. Horizon nodded slowly. "Queen Wisp probably picked up our scent already," Ruby whispered. "King Castor should be with her, though. Let's just hope that they understand why we need them to help us fight." "I don't know," said Horizon. "They probably will, right? Aunt Diamond said they hated Queen Cora." "True," agreed Robin. When they looked up again, Queen Wisp had arrived, and everyone had gone silent, watching her talk with Aurora. "What brings you here, Aurora, dear?" Queen Wisp asked. "I haven't seen you since you were a little pup! Do you need anything from us?" She smiled. Aurora smiled back. "Yes, we do need your help, in fact," she said. "But it's to do with Queen Cora-you probably don't know that her daughter, Andromeda, has started a rebellion against her. We've been putting off the final battle for a while, but recently, some of Cora's scouts attacked us, and one survived. So, we knew we had to fight. We need you to help us, as allies." Queen Wisp's eyes had darkened. "Queen Cora-I haven't heard from her since Prince Hunter was born. She was rude, power-hungry, and the worst Queen Findrut has had in it's many years." She paused, glaring at the ground as if it was Cora. After a while, she said, "anyway, of course we'll help!" Horizon breathed a sigh of relief as her army nodded.
