Chapter 23: Diamond's Discovery

Diamond had visited Ruby and Hunter's pups, Robin, Horizon, and Hope, two times with Emerald over the past week. She knew that there would be three more weeks until they could actually exit the den and interact with the other wolves, Skystar Rebellion or not, but she was just too excited. Still, she wasn't as excited as Andromeda, who visited the pups every day.
She, Emerald, and Ruby were officially allowed by Andromeda to know whatever happened in the meetings of the leader, since Hunter was Ruby's mate, and Sapphire was their, Ruby, Emerald and herself's, cousin. She knew about the Tapestry of Good and Evil, and what exactly Midnight knew about it.
Half of the time she wasn't thinking about the new pups, she was thinking about the outcome of the battle with the wind, or Queen Cora's forces. She knew there had to be something. She had thought for ages, but come to no outcome, and she knew that someone had to find out what it meant, or they'd be questioning everything forever, until the battle was over.
It was a silent night. Emerald's soft snores echoed throughout the room, keeping Diamond from drifting off into a peaceful sleep. Or—perhaps—maybe it was how her mind could not be put at ease not knowing the answers. She so badly wanted to know every single detail, but she didn't. Nobody did.
Diamond looked around, making sure Emerald was asleep, before creeping out the den and towards the hall where she knew the Tapestry of Good and Evil was. She could hear the wind howling, and it made her fur stand on end, but she continued on. There was no point of just turning back.
Her paw slipped. Diamond thought she would go tumbling down, or perhaps fall face-flat, waking everyone up, and startling them completely. But there was some kind of grip on the floor—something cold—and she didn't fall.
Diamond came to a halt when she saw the familiar art piece on the wall, shining like silver and glowing like the moon. She stepped forward. Then she sighed and looked at it, squinting slightly, trying to make sure she understood everything about it, and what it all meant. She had to, after all, to sleep.
"'There is only one victor, of the battle between the winds and the stars,'" she whispered, reading out one of the sentences. "'But many shall live in peace, and the wind will be restored.'" She frowned, puzzled. Did that mean Queen Cora won? "'The fake-one has powers, but no match for the powers of the Lord.'" Who was the Lord, though? And the Fake-One? "'Each has their followers, but always, truth over lies; the hidden will return, and the capturer will meet her demise.'"
The capturer? Were the capturer and the Lord the same, or was the capturer the same as the Fake-One? Or were they all different wolves entirely? This was all so confusing! Diamond read again. "'Each day, she will stay, and decide on her true fate.'" Diamond shook her head. What in the heavens could this mean?
"The Lost-One lies, beneath the skies, guided by the one who chose the humble path." Huh? It was frustrating, not understanding something that was right in front of you. That's how Diamond was feeling.
Diamond looked up, reading all the sayings thoroughly, making sure she didn't miss a thing, before her eyes went wide.
Was the capturer Queen Cora?

Well, Diamond certainly has some interesting speculations there

Well, Diamond certainly has some interesting speculations there... whether Queen Cora is the capturer or not remains to be seen, because there's always a possibility she's wrong. It could be someone different entirely! And yes, nobody has figured out who the Lord is yet, or the Fake-One, but Diamond's certainly made it easier, hasn't she?
Thanks!
