Chapter 25: The First Escape

"Your majesty!" Drake called. He was one of Queen Cora's most loyal followers, and he was running towards her, puffing from sprinting. Queen Cora raised an eyebrow, beckoning for him to continue. "Princess Carol, Diana, and Serena have all disappeared. We've been searching for hours, but they're gone.
At this, Queen Cora stood up. Carol? Missing? Carol always went on about how you should never in all your life as a wolf, cross Findrut's boundaries. And she wasn't speaking for that stupid rebellion. Why would Carol, out of all wolves, be missing? That was just preposterous. Carol was the most loyal follower, in fact, as Drake was just behind her.
"I will consult Stella," she said haughtily, and she marched off towards Stella's Councillor Cave. When she got there, Stella was pacing restlessly. She sat down and stared hard at her councillor. Stella turned around, staring in awe as she saw Queen Coraline, and then straightening to speak to her.
"Your majesty!" she gasped. "I do not know where Diana and Serena have disappeared off to, but, I saw them today, talking in Diana's cave in hushed whispers. I thought they were just talking about where Princess Andromeda and Prince Hunter went, so I left them be. Then, they disappeared. But they disappeared after Carol."
Queen Cora nodded. She was quite intruiged by the newest mystery that had arose. Then, with a smirk, she recalled that Diana and Serena had written a monologue, or a Inner-Prophet, as they called it, before they left. She could see it carved on the walls. Stella saw, too, and she read it aloud hurriedly.
"Why would she stay,
With all the pain,
With all the suffering.
Why would she leave,
With dangerous every step,
With crying each night.
How could she live,
And oblivious,
With everything around her.
How did she know,
That there's a place to go,
With everything happening.
I told her this,
I remembered from long ago.
I wished for this,
And now it's happening.
Everywhere we go.

 Everywhere we go
