Chapter 13: Darkness

Midnight felt cold, shivering slightly throughout the day. She didn't know why. She had asked Andromeda and Sapphire if they felt cold, and they had said it was warmer than they'd ever imagined.
But Midnight didn't only feel cold. She felt like something was coming, something eerie and dark, something all the wolves of the Skystar Rebellion had never predicted. But Midnight knew she wasn't Ina—she wasn't a fortune teller, either, and she certainly didn't have any proof that something would happen.
But still, that didn't shake off the odd feeling she had.
She wasn't jealous, of course. She knew herself well enough to know that. But she felt something odd when she looked at the tapestry behind Andromeda's den, with the "good-guys" fighting the "bad-guys."
Midnight paced around her den, thinking. The tapestry didn't have anything unique about it, yet she felt it did. Why, though? What about the Tapestry of Good and Evil, which was what it was called, made her wobble in the knees? She closed her eyes and sighed deeply.
When she opened them, she noticed Borealis, Hunter's friend, (and the betrothed of Aurora, Andromeda's friend), at the door, watching her with sympathetic eyes. Midnight smiled weakly and beckoned him over, still dizzy with her thoughts.
"Have you been getting a weird feeling, too?" he asked. "My brother, Birch, told me that he felt like something was off—especially when he looked at the Tapestry of Good and Evil. Dunno why."
Midnight sighed, this time relieved. So she wasn't the only one who felt something was off.
"Yeah," Borealis continued, looking uncomfortable, for some reason. "He's been tossing and turning in his sleep. Aurora's a healer, and even she doesn't know what's happened to him," he shuffled on his paws. Only Ina would know what was happening, she thought. If only I knew if she was still alive... she sighed inwardly.
Then it happened.
The thought popped into Midnight's head so suddenly, she almost jumped. The Tapestry of Good and Evil was made by Ina and her daughter, Estella—Ina was a fortune teller—of course! Her dreams and weird feelings were because the tapestry was predicting the final battle of the Skystar rebellion! Why else would it say "the sky became the stars, and the wind became the roots?" Why hadn't she realized? It was just...
Darkness.

Hi, guys! I know I don't usually do author's notes on this book, but I just wanted to say a few things. Firstly, this book will be 40-50 chapters, maybe more. It's got a complicated plot. Characters will show their true colours left and right, relationships will be form, and those who are close may argue. And, there may be an unexpected twist regarding Hunter's relationship with one of the gemstone sisters...
I am not going to say much about that, though, except someone as messaged me about a suggestion of a twist I could add regarding Hunter and the three gemstone sisters, one in particular. I know I'm delaying the romance, which may be annoying to some of you, (AlphaWolf2345 😂), but I do promise it will come VERY soon.
As you can see, I have updated quite a lot lately, in this book. Some of you might've guessed that the reason I've updated lots of chapters today, five so far, is because I'm actually trying to make up for delaying the release of Chapter 9 for a LONG time. I hope you enjoy having all these chapters to read! I know my best friend, AlphaWolf2345, is loving this, but she also thinks I'm going a bit overboard with the updates. I think I am, but I want to update more!
Thanks!
