Chapter 50: Queen Andromeda of Srail, Place of Stealth

"I have watched Andromeda grow through thick and thin, since she was a pup, since Lady Cora gave birth to her," began Ina, with her speech. "I may have not had any direct contact with her, but I watched her through my crystal ball as she conquered and jumped over everything that came in her way.
"I named her after a constellation, but her name hides deeper meaning than the deepest trenches, most dense forests, or the thickest snow. She did not give up on her dreams; rather, she reached for the sky, with determination I had never seen since my daughter, Estella's, mate, Stealth's, passing. I had never been prouder of my descendant in my life.
"I was here during her fight with Lady Saeva, the Fake-One—and in that fight, despite Saeva being more experienced than herself, Andromeda pulled through and fought, ignoring the blood that leaked out her stomach, that Saeva had the upper hand. No, she just fought, and she won, too.
"I have discussed with Andromeda, and she refuses to take all the credit for defeating Saeva. Indeed, Saeva's own son, Amandi, saved her life, when Saeva came close to finishing her off. The fact that Andromeda did not take all the credit for herself proves that she is loyal and noble, certainly not attention-seeking. This is what we need in a Queen.
"Findrut honored the traits selflessness, kindness, loyalty, and honestly most in a wolf—Skystar honored bravery, determination, and resilience. To put those two together is to make Andromeda. And this, if you have not picked up, means that Andromeda is certainly the perfect Queen for Srail."
Ina finished her speech with a smile, then was escorted off the place where the ground was raised, The Hiytt, where Andromeda would be crowned and wolves gave speeches by Tide, who stared at her in awe while doing so.
Andromeda watched from the shadows. She saw Hunter and his pups in the crowd. She saw her parents. She saw Emerald, Diamond, Sapphire, Orion, Midnight, and others from Skystar. She saw Crescent and her pups. A smile broke out on her face. Her friends and family were here to support her.
Then, Stalk walked onto the Hiytt. Looking at all the wolves, he spoke, his voice dramatic. "Now, it is time for Princess Andromeda to become Queen Andromeda of Srail, Place of Stealth."
Nerves wringing in her heart, Andromeda stepped forward gingerly. All eyes turned to her as she walked past all the wolves to the Hiytt, her paces slow. When she got there, Stalk picked a four-leaf clover from the ground and placed it on her head. Even though it was the end of winter, four-leaf clovers were in stock. Healers like Abalone and Auklet had been collecting them in summer, and saving them for corronations like this one.
Stalk tore a leaf from the four-leaf clover, then another, then another, then another, until it was split up. Andromeda took them from him and swallowed them: it was tradition, after all. Wolves didn't usually eat plants.
Finally, Stalk picked up a crown, a headband, made from leaves on a willow tree and roses. They were tied together beautifully, sparkling like diamonds. He smiled at Andromeda, who bent down, closing her eyes, and he placed the crown on her head.
There was a short moment of silence. Andromeda took a step backwards, lifted her head and faced the audience, then opened her eyes. She saw them all smiling at her, some proud, some in awe, some generally happy. Finally, the cheering and shouts of encouragement broke out. Smiling, Andromeda waved at everyone.
Over the noise, Stalk yelled, "and here we present Queen Andromeda of Srail, Place of Stealth!"

That was it! That was the last chapter of "The Lord!" I will most certainly do a sequel some time in the future, but not too soon. And, this is the end, but not the "end-end." There will be five more parts, after-hands.
