After their quick escape from reality, Hyun Bin and Ye Jin found themselves in a new routine. Ye Jin and Hyun Bin found that they both enjoyed cosying up on the couch with coffee for Ye Jin and a beer for Hyun Bin. They simply found little moments of happiness together.

Apart from one more visit to the orphanage together, most of their days were spent apart because of work but Ye Jin would occasionally visit Bin at work. She would often bake small treats for the VAST employees as well and they were always very friendly and welcoming in all her visits.

Luckily, though she wasn't around the office as much, the employees have kept to some of the routine such as daily stretch sessions which helped them unwind and bond together. Because of that, the atmosphere in the office was more amiable than before and even Hyun Bin himself was warming up to the idea even without Jinnie around.

This change puzzled Hyun Bin's abeoji when he had a meeting in his son's office, but he said nothing about it. As long as everyone was productive and work was getting done efficiently, he wouldn't interfere with his son's management. After all, it was the only thing that Hyun Bin has yet to disappoint him in.

Besides, his son was too hardheaded and the two typically clashed if they interfered in the other's management in VAST. But he did notice a big difference in his son, and he was surprised by the change. He hasn't seen this side of his son in the last 6 years and though he never said anything about the incident, he did regret his actions back then.

Hyun Bin was never in a good mood whenever he had to meet his abeoji. Most of their interactions were about work and the two acted like mere business partners when they interacted with one another.

There is never that familiarity that a father and son should have, and both preferred not to go into personal matters as well. However, for some reason, this time, Hyun Bin thought about what Jinnie said way back when they went on their weekend getaway.

"Forgiveness is giving your hate just a little room in your heart. Forgiveness really isn't that hard if you think that way. We should make amends with our family while they are still alive. You never know if you may have regrets once they leave..." Jinnie's voice echoed in his head.

"Step by step right?" Hyun Bin muttered underneath his breath.

His abeoji looked up at him in confusion, not hearing what he just said. "Did you say something? I didn't catch that."

"Aniyo...Abeoji, have you been well?" Hyun Bin asked hesitantly.

His abeoji was startled by the question but recovered quickly as he cleared his throat. "I've been well, my medical checkup came back clean if that's what you're asking. How has life been with Ji Wan ssi?"

Both men were clearly feeling awkward and Hyun Bin had to take a deep breath before he answered his abeoji's question. Step by step...

"We've been well. She's amazing." Hyun Bin opened up, a genuine smile on his face as he thought about Jinnie. His abeoji noticed how his son was smiling like a fool and he knew that the change he saw in his son was true because of his wife.

"I'm glad. Ahem, should we start our meeting?" His abeoji asked.

Hyun Bin's face became serious again as he bent over the documents in between them. Just like that, the family moment ended and the two got into business mode again. But at least Hyun Bin took the first step this time.

After the meeting, Hyun Bin decided to call it a day and surprise Jinnie. He wondered if she was tending to the plants again or reading in the Ladies' Parlour. Regardless, he was excited to see his angel again.
