"Happy Father's Day, love." Ye Jin whispered the second her husband woke up.

"Is that today?" Hyun Bin yawned whilst his arm remained encircled lazily around his wife.

"Oh honey, how could you forget your special day? The children are excited." Ye Jin teased.

"Is that so?" Hyun Bin tilted his head to the side.

Instead of answering, Ye Jin nuzzled their noses together, and smiled softly at her husband, basking in the short moment of pure love.

Hyun Bin closed his eyes and pulled Ye Jin close to him, enjoying the way their hearts were beating as one and the bubble of peacefulness surrounding them.

He couldn't believe how much his life has changed since the first day he met Ye Jin. It was one hell of a rollercoaster ride to get to where they were, but he would do it again in a heartbeat.

Because of her, his love was filled with so much hope. Because of her, he looked forward to waking up every single day. Because of her, he became a father, an appa.

Anyone can become a father, but not everyone can become an appa. For your children to call you appa as though you were their favourite person in the whole wide world, it took many sacrifices and much nurturing on a father's part. Even if it was hard sometimes.

All in all, Hyun Bin loved his life now with Jinnie and their beloved children. He wouldn't have it any other way.

"Appa!" A chorus of shouts filled their room, a typical wake-up call for the couple in the Hyun household.

"Happy!" Eun Ae shouted while they jumped onto the bed.

"Father's!" Jeong Eun bounced.

"Day!" Little Ki Rai was too short to get onto the bed but nevertheless did as they practiced, as she tried her best to jump onto the tall bed.

"Omo, Ki Rai baby, come here." Ye Jin lifted Ki Rai onto their bed.

Sandwiched between her parents, Ki Rai got a bunch of kisses from her appa as the couple laughed at their children's morning greeting.

Truly, one never got to experience the joys of parenthood until they were parents themselves.

Having your bed turned into a bouncy castle was one of them.

Collectively, Jeong Eun and Eun Ae plonked down next to their parents when they grew tired of jumping. Instead, they were chatting their parents' ears away while Ki Rai babbled cutely along with her random words and phrases.

"We already got dressed! Are we going grocery shopping now?" Eun Ae asked her parents.

"We're going grocery shopping?" Hyun Bin asked.

"Ne!" Ye Jin confirmed.

"Appa and I need to get dressed. Out you go. Bring Ki Rai with you!" Ye Jin was in eomma mode as she ushered their children out of their bedroom.

Jeong Eun held on tightly to his little sister's hand and followed Eun Ae to their playroom. Their parents always took ages to get dressed, which meant they had more time to play before breakfast.

Moments later, the usual boisterous sounds of their family enjoying a meal together filled the family house.

Typical of the family, Jeong Eun was chewing quietly and observing his surroundings while Eun Ae kicked at the air and talked.

Hyun Bin was the soft papa bear he always was with his children as he watched Ki Rai stuff another mouth of bread into her mouth.

Occasionally, the little one would wave the chocolate bread in front of her appa's mouth and he would pretend to take a bite out of it. Father and daughter had their bonding session while Ye Jin busied herself with their eldest two.
