After the ceremony, Ye Jin and Hyun Bin did their rounds together as they went to every table to greet their guests and take photos. The atmosphere was light and jovial as friends and family celebrated the union of the couple.
Yet, the stars of the day were feeling far from happy. Hyun Bin felt that the day was wasted time which he could have used to look through the piles of paper on his desk. He was also mentally drained from all the formalities and photo-taking.
Likewise, Ye Jin was feeling equally drained from trying to recall who was who and her cheeks were hurting from smiling through it all. It's truly a different story when you're forcing a smile especially with how stressed out Ye Jin was actually feeling on the inside. Her feet were also getting tired from the heels and from holding the weight of her wedding dress. Hyun Bin remained stoic next to her the whole time and Ye Jin just wanted the day to end so that she could curl up in bed and sleep.
Finally, the reception ended. Guests followed the couple out as they got into the car together, sending them off for their wedding night. Hyun Bin's chauffeur drove the two to the family house as Ye Jin waved shyly to everyone.
Once they were out of sight, Ye Jin finally relaxed and leaned back in the car seat and kicked off her heels. Ye Jin sighed happily as she felt blood rush back to her feet as she stretched them out. It was such a relief to be able to feel her feet again.
Hyun Bin was taken aback by her unladylike behaviour which was again, very unlike the Ji Wan he knew. Instead of commenting, he chose to keep quiet as he watched the girl wriggle her toes.
The car ride was tense as the newlywed couple chose to stay silent. Hyun Bin basked in the silence, although knowing Ji Wan was right next to him only made him feel frustrated. Although Ye Jin was tired, she didn't like the tense silence very much and was wracking her brain hard to get the conversation going.
"Where are we going?" Ye Jin broke through the tense silence, realising she has no idea what the plans are after the wedding.
"Ne..." Ye Jin hesitated. Was she supposed to know where they were going?
"We're going to my family house. We'll be staying there for now." Hyun Bin replied bluntly before he looked away from her.
Pursing her lips, Ye Jin took that as a sign that their conversation is done. Leaning away from Hyun Bin, she started admiring the greenery they were passing by. She sighed softly at the beauty of nature. Will she be able to see such beautiful greenery at the family house? If it's anything like her eomeoni's house, the greenery there would probably be trimmed and cut by the gardeners. It almost seems too superficial to Ye Jin even though the flowers and bushes were very much real. Nothing beats nature in its purest form.
