Techno never placed a high value on his life. He was one out of seven billion, it's not like his life made an impact on anyone. He put on a tough act for his family, but the foundation had begun to crack. Slowly, he felt the invading thoughts start to wiggle their way back into his mind and it scared him.

He started spending hours in his room, only coming out for work and food. Eventually, he stopped coming out for food, choosing to eat at work or bring something home to eat in his room. Techno avoided as much interaction with his family as possible, only interacting with them when he had to pick Tommy up. Even then, he ignored the boy on the rides.

After about a week of this behavior, his family started getting worried. Wilbur kept trying to corner Techno to talk to him, but Techno always ignored him and moved along. Tommy started bugging Techno more, but it only resulted in a slightly annoyed glare. Finally, Phil stepped in to take drastic measures.

Techno was laying on his bed staring at the dark ceiling, those thoughts running rampant in his head. You'll never be good enough. Why do you burden them? They're worried about you, stop being weak and depressed. You don't even have anything to be depressed over. Why don't you-, his thoughts were cut off as his door was cracked open, allowing light to spill into the room. He turned his face away from it, shutting his eyes.

"Techno, we need to have a chat. I'm turning on the light, so close your eyes," Phil watched Techno throw a blanket over his face as Phil switched the lights on. He took in Techno's room and inhaled sharply. There were beer cans on every inch of his desk and clothes were tossed all over the floor.

Techno just quietly curled up under the blanket, tears welling up in his eyes for the fifth time today. He didn't even know he had tears left to cry. Before he could do anything, his warm layer of protection was ripped away and he was met with Phil's concerned face.

Phil took one look at Techno before hugging him tightly. He hated it when his boys cried, he almost wanted to cry at just the idea of them being sad. He let Techno quietly cry into him, muttering reassuring words to try and calm him down. Phil felt like he'd failed as a dad. He knew Techno struggled with his inner demons and he often coped in unhealthy ways, yet he could never bring up the idea of therapy with Techno. Maybe it was Phil's personal experience with the medical branch, but he was always apprehensive with therapists. He decided that his personal bias shouldn't get in the way of his son's mental health and swore to bring it up when Techno stopped crying.

For now, he would sit there for as long as Techno needed him, even if his leg was already starting to fall asleep.
