Traumatized

Techno was running. The trees and the brush scrapped his legs as he ran, causing him to stumble. He crashed to the ground and scrambled as the footsteps drew closer. His foot was caught on something and the shadow fell on him. The figure reached down-

"Techno!"

He jolted awake and sat up, looked around panicked. Niki was shaking him and he forced himself to breathe properly.

"Are you alright?" Niki asked, her hand moving to take his.

"I just... it was just a bad dream," Techno said and struggled calmed his shaking, "Where's Tubbo?"

"He's at my house with Minx and Schlatt. They offered to stay the night so I could be here," Niki sighed and sat down, "I woke up to you practically screaming in your sleep. Are you sure you're alright?"

Techno hesitated, "I'm just a little shaken up, that's all. Don't worry about me."

"You're sitting in a hospital bed, Techno. It's a little hard not to worry about you," Niki shook her head softly.

Techno looked at the time, "It's late, we should probably go back to sleep."

Niki yawned and moved the chair to where she could lay her head on the bed, "Probably."

Techno watched her fall asleep and attempted to do the same. He sat there in the darkness with his eyes closed for what felt like hours listening to Niki quietly snore.

After a bit he opened his eyes and grabbed his phone with a grunt. He started working and before he knew it, the sun was starting to stream into the room. He heard Niki shift and looked over at her.

"Techno...? How long have you been awake?" Niki sat up and stretched.

"Uh..." Techno gave her a sheepish smile and put his phone down in his lap.

"Techno..." Niki frowned and took his phone away, "You need to rest."

"I know, I'm sorry. I just couldn't fall asleep," Techno fiddled with his blanket.

Niki just sighed and laid her head back down, "The doctors will be in soon... wake me up before they come in..."

Techno smiled and started twirling a strand of her hair, "Can I have my phone back?"

"No."

"Fine..."
