Ice Skating

The sound of metal on ice filled the air and Techno was slightly nervous. Tubbo's friends had invited him to ice skate in the park and Techno couldn't help but agree. He already had his ice skates on and was tying Tubbo's as the boy blabbered on about something.

"That good?" Techno looked up at Tubbo who stood using the top of his head as a support.

"Yup! Thanks, Dad!" Tubbo smiled at him and Techno wobbled to his feet.

They made their way to the ice and Techno's anxiety grew. He wasn't exactly the best with footwork, as seen with the many times Niki tried to dance with him.

Tubbo jolted him out of his thoughts and dragged him onto the ice, "Dad come on!"

Techno quickly grabbed onto the wall to stabilize as he nearly tripped, "How about you go ahead and meet up with your friends and I'll just wait here," Techno flashed him a smile and leaned against the wall.

"If you say so..." Tubbo mumbled and skated off, quickly joining the small group. Techno watched him and his friends laugh and skate before pushing himself off the wall.

"It's just ice skating, how hard could it be?"

He found out very quickly that it was a lot harder than he anticipated. After falling down for the third time, Techno huffed and gave up.

Tubbo skated up and stifled giggles, "Need help, Dad?"

"Yeah, ok," Techno sighed and allowed Tubbo to help him up. He gripped onto Tubbo as they slowly left the wall and headed towards the center.

"Dad, it's ok. Just try to relax," Tubbo smiled at him and Techno smiled back before immediately losing his balance and flailing.

As they both fell to the ice, they both laughed. Tubbo helped him get up and eventually Techno was able to skate with the help of Tubbo.

Eventually, Techno left Tubbo to get them lunch. He nearly broke his ankle walking in the ice skates and stepped aside to take them off. He was going to have a serious talk with Niki about her heels.

Tubbo and his friends joined him shortly after and Techno smiled at how comfortable Tubbo looked. The group left Techno alone and he turned in his ice skates.

He leaned against the wall and watched Tubbo skate for a bit before getting a work call. He sighed and stepped away, walking down a quiet pathway.

Tubbo looked back and saw Techno walking away. He frowned before his friends dragged his attention back to them.

Techno returned shortly later and Tubbo was ready to go. With a smile, Tubbo waved goodbye to his friends and ran to take Techno's hand.

"Did you have fun today?" Techno smiled at him as they walked home.

"Yeah, it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it," Tubbo smiled back and Techno sighed as he got another call.

"Hello? Yeah. Yeah. No that's not what- No, listen to me- I'll double check it when I get home. No, stop. Just wait-"

Tubbo zoned out as Techno talked on the phone. Techno was getting slightly annoyed at his colleague and glanced at Tubbo. He finally just hung up and groaned, shoving his phone in his pocket.

"Everything ok?" Tubbo looked at him, a little concerned.

"Yeah, just someone at work being a nerd. Are you up for ice cream?" Techno smiled as Tubbo enthusiastically agreed, quickly dragging him along.

Techno had a very sore morning while Tubbo rushed to get ready for school.
