Part 2

Techno hesitated before continuing downstairs. He knew he shouldn't have run away from her, but his anxiety had taken complete control. All he could do was run.

Niki heard him go down the stairs and she locked the door before making her way over to Tubbo, "Are you ok?"

Tubbo nodded, "Is he mad?"

"No, he's just... he just needs a break. Want to watch a movie?" Niki said as she sat down next to him.

"Ok..." Tubbo said and leaned against her as the movie played, falling asleep.

Techno was just walking. He didn't exactly know where to, but he was just walking. After a bit, he stopped and looked around, "Where... Where am I?"

Niki nervously glanced at the clock. Techno was just going for a walk, he was supposed to be home by now. She looked down at Tubbo who had fallen asleep in her lap and she sighed, running her fingers through his hair.

Techno looked around confused. He reached for his phone to find it missing, the same with his wallet. He swore and sighed. Deciding to backtrack, he turned and started walking from where he came.

He wound up more lost than when he began. The roads didn't sound familiar at all and he couldn't work up enough courage to ask someone.

The sky was starting to brighten by the time he finally found a familiar road. The tiredness was sucked out of him as he practically ran home. He tried to open the door only for it to be locked.

Niki woke up to pounding and she quickly got up and yanked open the door, waking poor Tubbo.

Techno looked at her, "Niki I-"

She cut him off with a slap, "Where have you been! It's 6 am, Techno!"

"I got lost-"

"You shouldn't have run off!" Tears sprung to her eyes and she slapped him again, "I was worried sick!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

Niki was about to slap him again when Tubbo ran up and hugged him. She put her hand down and watched Techno kneel down and pull him closer.

"Please don't do that again, Dad..."

"I won't, I'm sorry Tubs."

Niki sighed and went to start food, "Tubbo, go get his pain meds. I have a feeling they'll wear off soon."

Tubbo begrudgingly let go and Techno stepped inside, closing the door behind him, "Niki, I'm sorry."

She sighed, "Sit down and shut up. Breakfast will be done in a moment."

Techno decided not to push his luck and he sat down, quietly accepting the pills from Tubbo. Niki joined them shortly after and they sat around in silence as they ate.

This was going to be a long day.
