Nightly chats

Techno and Niki were sitting on her roof watching the stars. The boys were sound asleep in their rooms, tired from a long day today of fun. The cool, summer wind was rustling through the trees.

"What are you thinking about?" Niki's voice startled Techno, causing him to snap out of his daze.

"What?" He met her eyes.

"What are you thinking about?"

Techno looked back at the stars, "Not much, you?"

Niki hesitated, "How do you do it?"

"Do what?" Techno looked back at her confused.

"Raise Tubbo alone. Isn't it difficult?"

Techno laughed and looked back up, "Well I'm not alone, I have you. But yeah, I guess it was hard before."

Niki smiled and took his hand, "Yeah."

"Do you enjoy it? Being a mom in a sense," Techno looked back at her.

"It's definitely an experience."

Techno paused, "A good or bad one?"

"Well, there's definitely bad, but it's weighed out by the good. So mostly good," Niki turned back to the stars, "Would you ever want to adopt again?"

"I don't think I could afford it. Tubbo and Tommy are about the same age so once they're off to college it'll be a massive downgrade for me," Techno laughed quietly.

"Downgrade?"

"I won't have a reason to live in our current place. It's big and the extra expenses could instead go to their college fund. I'll probably find some one room apartment somewhere and live there."

"What about the bees in Tubbo's room? What if he wants to come home and they're gone?"

Techno paused, "Well... I kinda forgot about those."

Niki smiled, "I could move in with you there? I'm thinking of opening a shop there anyway."

Techno looked at her then back at the moon, "If you wanted to, I guess."
