Part 39-Bonus

He was sitting in that chair again, that smile was looking at him again. He hated that smile. Dad wasn't looking at him, he looked... mad? His attention snapped to the judge as he said guilty. He looked back to Dad, who was leaving him. He screamed, but nothing came out and then he felt something grab him and he was dragged back-

Tubbo awoke in a cold sweat, Techno was gently shaking him, worry all over his face. Tommy was standing next to Techno, looking at Tubbo with tears in his eyes. Tubbo felt tears prick his eyes as he latched onto Techno and began to sob.

"I'm here, Tubs, I'm here. It was just a bad dream," Techno was gently swaying and hugging the sobbing mess in his arms. His heart was racing, he was shaken awake by a panicked Tommy and they'd both raced back after hearing Tubbo scream.

Tubbo eventually calmed down, "I- I- I-" just thinking about the dream made him burst into tears again.

Techno quietly sighed and picked him up and carried him into Techno's room. He set Tubbo down on his bed and left to get their book and sat next to Tubbo.

Tubbo's sobs slowly quieted down as Techno read to him. "I'm sorry..." he muttered.

Techno stopped reading and looked down, "It's ok, Tubs. Do you want to tell me about it or do you want to wait till morning?"

Tubbo looked at him, "I- I- I was in the courtroom and and the mean guy was there and- and-" Tubbo felt Techno start running his fingers through his hair.

"It's just a dream, Tubs. It can't hurt you, ok?" Techno smiled as Tubbo took a shaky breath and continued.

"Y-you were there too, but you were m-mad at me... and the judge said g-guilty, and- and you left me and- and I-" Techno pulled him closer and Tubbo latched onto him again.

Techno looked down at the shaking figure, "I'm not leaving you, Tubbo. I won't just abandon you, ok? I won't ever get mad enough to kick you out, I won't purposely ignore you, and I most certainly won't let them ever try that again. You don't have to worry."

Tubbo nodded and looked up at him, "C-can you continue reading?"

Techno nodded and picked up from where he left off. Soon, Tubbo was quietly snoring, his arms still wrapped around Techno. Setting the book down on the nightstand, he turned off the lamp and laid down, accidentally waking Tubbo up. Techno wrapped his arms around the boy and soon they both fell asleep.

Tubbo awoke the next morning in Technos arms, the man still asleep even though it was well past the time he usually got up, but Tubbo only moved closer into his embrace.

He knew he was safe here.
