TP POV:

Jeongguk had become less depressed as the day slowly went by. Taehyung tried his utmost best to help Jeongguk back to his original form. And he had succeeded even if it was not much. They went to the movies, went on a picnic, went to a carnival, and even did stargazing. It was the perfect traditional date in every form of the word. And the twins liked it a little too much than they would like to admit.

The celestial duo was currently on their way to visit the detective. It was the next day and bright in the morning. The detective was known to be an early bird. Taehyung was driving as he knew Jeongguk had many things to think about and sort through by himself.

Jeongguk on the other hand was very conflicted about how he felt. Of course, he was happy that the detective was well and recovering. The doctors have said he would be up and running by the next three weeks. And Jeongguk was relieved to a greater degree. But what bothered him was the fact that the detective had to get hurt at all. And that blame was on him.

It was obviously a mistake on his part since he was inexperienced in that sort of situation. That was practically the first time he was exposed to such an event. But even so, the devil could not help but beat himself up for being the cause of an innocent man's harm. Had it been a criminal Jeongguk wouldn't have given it too much thought. But Namjoon was just a civil servant.

The point of the devil's existence was to be the punisher of evil. But in turn, he had done the opposite. Thus causing him to curse the very existence of himself.

The devil sighed as the car came to a halt. To his pleasure, his twin hadn't uttered a word so he could clear his mind of his thoughts.

And once the raven thought he was ready, the two proceeded to enter the establishment that held their injured comrade. They were previously informed of the room number in which the detective resided in. So it didn't take them long to reach the said room.

Taehyung knocked on the door twice before it was opened by a tall man they had never seen before. The man had sharp eyes and a broad frame. His aura almost reminded him of his worrier brother. Jackson, aka Amenadiel.

The male slowly turned to the side so they could see the detective who was looking in their direction. The two instantly walked in and greeted the male. "Detective Namjoon, are you feeling any better?" The concerned angel asked. The detective smiling at him and giving a timid nod. Then the man's eyes directed to Jeongguk's. The charcoal eyes that held so much regret and self-loathing. You could never have guessed by the tall and proud stature that the great devil could crack because of such a thing.

Jeongguk slowly walked towards the bedridden man and slowly proceeded to apologize, "I'm sorry detective, if not for me-" the raven was interrupted. "Well hello to you too Lucifer. And don't apologize for something you can't control. It is okay. Mistakes happen" the detective gave the raven his dimpled smile as reassurance.

Though Jeongguk didn't really buy it, he still tried to look as chilled as he could. His previous playfulness slightly dulling because of the sudden seriousness.

The two had effectively forgotten about the man who opened the door. Completely ignoring his existence. If he didn't try to draw attention by clearing his throat, he would have probably been ignored the entirety of their stay.

The three males looked at the tall and broad officer in the corner of the room who confidently stared back. Though Jeongguk wasn't staring. He was glaring. For some reason, the man's presence didn't sit right with Jeongguk. He seemed kind of off to the devil. But Jeongguk couldn't put his finger on it.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce you to my supporting officer! This is Mark Tuan. He is a great friend and support. He was away for a foreign case so you couldn't meet before. He will be substituting for me on some of my pending cases whilst I recover." The detective introduced as he gestured to the tall framed man in the corner.

"And Mark, this is Lucifer Morningstar and his brother V Morningstar. They are detective consultants. My partners." Namjoon again counter-introduced his partners. Taehyung giving the tall man a smile while Jeongguk just gave him a subtle nod of acknowledgment.

Mark smiled at them and stepped forward. "I've heard about you two. The Morningstar brothers. Especially Lucifer since he basically owns the main attraction of the city. And V is apparently the mysterious little brother no one knew about until now" the man spoke out. Jeongguk had a feeling in his gut that told him this man was not good. The vibe was just off with him.

"Well, I certainly haven't heard about you. And FYI, don't be deceived by the petit form. He's actually slightly older than me." The devil cheekily replied. His protectiveness bouncing him back to his old antics.

Mark, however, looked particularly surprised by the fact that Taehyung was actually the older of the two. His expression was a dead giveaway of how surprised he was, causing the angel to giggle. Mark awkwardly laughed and rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed about the false presumption.

"Yeah. I would have been surprised too if I didn't know how they behaved" Namjoon said as he tried to ease the other's embarrassment. "What do you mean?" Mark asked. "It is true though. Luci may look more mature than me physically, but he behaves like a spoiled teenager" the silver angel roasted. Jeongguk looked at his twin offended.

Namjoon cracking a laugh at that. "That is the most accurate description of a person I have ever heard" the man joked. "Hey! I do not!" The raven whined out. Completely contradicting his own statement.

The room was then filled with small laughter. "Well anyway, I have to take one of you with me for this case and I think V would be the perfect candidate" Mark suddenly stated. Jeongguk's stomach dropped at the declaration. "What? Why can't you take both of us?" Taehyung asked. "Well first off, I can't have that many people walking around a church filled with protective nuns. And plus, you look less threatening" the officer answered. Jeongguk huffed as he could not retaliate.

"I'll let you know about it tonight if that is okay," Taehyung asked politely. The officer smiling in assurance. They sit there for a few more minutes chatting with the detective before it was time to leave. Taehyung had left after his farewell and Jeongguk was about to leave as well when Mark's statement halted him in his steps.

"You know, the other reason I didn't want to work with you is that it's almost your fault Namjoon is here. Though he would never say it to your face" the man said lowly to the raven. Jeongguk's hands clenched tightly in a fist. His self loathe was rushing at him. Until Mark continued. "But, despite everything, the criminal is gone and many lives were saved from being destroyed. And you played a great part in it. Justice was served. That I will not deny. So thank you for that. But I know you're hurting. So it will be best to keep you on break for a while. At least until Namjoon gets back" the officer finished.

Jeongguk nodded at him and sighed. And before he could say anything else his phone rang. The raven picked up the call without looking at the ID. "Ggu, hurry up" the angel whined from the other line and cut the call immediately before the other could answer.

Jeongguk just chuckled at the male's antics before giving the two males a last glance and walking out.

The twins were in the penthouse before they knew it. Taehyung was in the shower and Jeongguk was messing with his phone when he got a text. From Maze. And the information that was written on that text was something Jeongguk didn't expect.

Maze was coming back to Seoul with Eve.

And that wasn't even the beginning of the storm that was about to come.
