Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Deny

"This will be your bed, and if ever you need me, there's a telephone beside your bed. It is connected to my room, so just call me," Orcus said with a stern voice, the reason why I only nodded as an answer with my awkward smile.

What should I do now that I'm taking a step in Orcus' house? That's what I'm thinking right now. Ilang beses ko siyang tinulak palayo pero heto ako ngayon nasa bahay niya dahil sa wala akong matutuluyan.

Syempre nahihiya rin ako pero hindi naman ako magtatagal dito dahil hahanap rin ako ng bago kong matutuluyan. Kailangan ko lang mag-tiis sa ngayon dahil wala akong mapupuntahan.

"Is everything alright with you? I could clean and change the mattress of your bed so you could be comfy," usal ni Orcus pero kaagad akong umiling. Bakit naman niya kailangang linisin ang kwarto ko e' mukha naman itong maayos?

"N-No, everything is fine. You don't have to do that," I uttered and fidget my hands because of embarrassment. This man in front of me is the one I'm pushing away, but he was still able to help me. Yes, I became aggressive, but it doesn't mean that I mean it to be that way. It's just I need a reason to be away from him because I'm scared.

"Sasabihin mo ba 'to kay Mama?" tanong ko at inangat ang ulo para tingnan siya. Kinapalan ko na ang mukha ko dahil natatakot lang naman ako nab aka sa isang iglap ay mawala na ang kalayaan na pilit kong inaalagaan.

I held his arm desperately. "I know I'm asking too much, but please... don't tell my parents that I'm with you. I'm begging you already."

May tapang na ako ng loob para pakiusapan siya dahil kalayaan ko na ang nakataya dito. Wala na akong ibang pagpipilian marahil nahanap niya na ako.

Orcus lowered his back to level my eyes. His hazel eyes looked at me intently, and my reflection was clear inside of it. I was desperate, but that's the only way to keep myself away from my parents.

"I-I'm begging you already. Please don't tell my parents that I'm here. I don't want to go back—"

"Do you think I'm that kind of person, Serina?" he cut me off, which is why my lips parted, trying to gather the words that I will say to him. Do I think he's that kind of person?

"Sa tingin mo ba magagawa kong tawagan ang magulang mo para sabihin na nandito ka kung alam ko isa sila sa dahilan kung bakit ka umalis?"

Humigpit ang hawak ko sa braso ni Orcus at hindi napigilan ang humikbi. Oo, magulang ko sila pero lagi nila akong sinasaktan. Kung babalik man ako sa poder nila ay paniguradong hindi na ako masisikatan ng araw.

"O-Orcus, I'm scared. They will—"

"They will hurt you, right?" Nabigla ako nang makuha niya ang susunod kong sasabihin pero kaagad akong tumango bilang sagot.

He sighed and brushed his fingertips to my hair. When his hand glided, I felt like he made those wild waves calm. All those fear creeping inside of me already hid when he caressed me softly, and it just feels good.
