Chapter 38

My hair is dripping as I run out of the bathroom, dahil naka simpleng t-shirt and jeans lang si Chase, I opted to wear a jumper short over a plain white shirt and paired it with some sneakers.

The Philippine's weather makes it so easy to just put on whatever's comfortable even when I'm going on a date.

Date na naman ito with Chase?

I shake off the feeling of weirdness about this whole thing.

Ollie's going to see me walk out of here with Chase. He's going to see that for the second time today, I've chosen to side with Chase.

Things are getting complicated and I don't know what will happen next.

I bite on my fingernails while checking out my reflection in the mirror.

Well, it's too late para bawiin ko pa ngayon so I just sigh, pick up my bag and walk out the door.

Pagbaba ko downstairs I hear voices from the living room.

Kumunot ang noo ko while trying to listen in on the conversation.

Napataas ang kilay ko nang makitang magkausap si Daddy at si Chase.

Chase stands up when he sees me approach, "Hey, you ready?"

I walk over to Daddy and give him a hug to his side, "Anong pinag-uusapan n'yo ha?"

Daddy just chuckles, "Nothing anak. Just business."

I scan Daddy's face, but he just gives me an easy smile.

I look over at Chase, "Let's go?"

Chase offers his hand to me and I take it, he says goodbye to Daddy and promises he'll visit more often so they can continue their conversation.

"Buttering up my Dad? Ganyan ba manligaw talaga sa Pilipinas? Nagpapalakas sa Tatay?"

Chase laughs as he puts his hand on my lower back to guide me as we're walking to his car, "I wasn't trying to do anything. Your Dad approached me when your Tita Baby left me alone sa living room n'yo."

I raise an eyebrow, "Business lang ba talaga ang pinag-usapan n'yo?"

He grins, "Yes. He did not tell me embarrassing stories about you."

I huff, "Like there are any stories to tell."

He smiles and nods, "I'm sure there aren't."

We get to his car and he opens the passenger door for me.

I thank him as I get in and while he's going around the car, I realize that I didn't see Ollie. Siguro nagtago na lang para hindi kami makitang magkasama.

I bite the inside of my cheek and look out of the car to catch a glimpse of him, but I could not see him there.

"What do you feel like having?" Chase asks.

Humarap ako kay Chase, "Uhm. I'm not sure..."

I bite my bottom lip while thinking of what I want to eat.

I snap my fingers, "Pizza!"

Tumaas ang mga kilay ni Chase, "Pizza?"

I nod grinning, "Yes. Pizza and some pasta please."

He smiles, "You're the boss."

We talk casually while on our way to the nearest mall. This is what I like about hanging out with Chase, there's no drama from the past, I can just be myself and not think to much about how to act around him and what it could mean.
