We arrive sa isang beach resort sa Batangas after almost three hours sa daan. Ollie doesn't look tired pero naaawa pa rin ako sa kanya, especially because tahimik kaming bumyahe after our conversation about me cutting him off before.
He drops me off sa reception ng resort while he parks the car, I walk over to the pavilion that serves as the reception for the resort and from there I can see the beachfront.
I walk over to the open area and feel the hot breeze on my skin. The blue sea looks so inviting. Sana pala nagdala ako ng pang-beach kung alam ko lang na dito kami pupunta. And then I get annoyed again dahil naalala ko na kaya ko hindi alam na pupunta kami dito is because Ollie didn't tell me.
I hear Ollie's voice before I even see him, he's walking behind me so napalingon ako. He's on the phone.
"Yeah, she's here. Gusto mo makausap?"
He hands me the phone, "Si Marky."
I'm impressed, it took him half a day before checking up on me. I smile, "Hi Kuya."
"Who leaves their phone battery empty nowadays?"
I give Ollie the side eye and he's just looking over at the beach, "I forgot to charge it, okay? I thought Ollie had a charger in his car pero wala pala."
I hear him sigh, "Okay. Mag-ingat kayo diyan, okay? Call me using his phone, or ask the reception there if they can charge yours."
"Okay. I'll call you later," I give the phone back to Ollie.
Ollie talks to him for a while, "Yes. Yes. Sasabihan kita kapag tapos na kami dito."
Ollie looks over at me and sighs, "Oo na. Sige na. Bye."
He seems annoyed with my brother, which doesn't usually happen. Madalas magkakampi sila ni Kuya so seeing him looking so fed up with my brother is something else.
He puts the phone in his pocket and I ask, "What did he say?"
He smirks, "Nothing I haven't heard before."
Since mukhang hindi na naman niya sasagutin ang tanong ko I just nod and walk over to the front desk, "Hi."
The guy on the other side of the desk smiles at me, "Hello Ma'am. Welcome to Dayspring, how may I help you?"
Napatingin siya kay Ollie nang tumabi sa akin, "Oh, you must be Mr. and Mrs. Gonzales. Are you here to check in?"
Nanlaki ang mata ko but before I can answer Ollie puts his arm around my shoulder, "Do we look like a couple?"
The guy is taken aback and I take Ollie's hand off my shoulder while I talk to him, "Don't answer that."
I take out my phone, "Pwede maki-charge ng phone?"
He looks back at Ollie and he says, "We're just looking for Sam DelaVega? He's coordinating a wedding here today?"
The receptionist nods, "Oh yes, Mr. DelaVega, I think the's at the ballroom setting up."
I ask again dahil hindi ako pinansin kanina, "So, about that charger?"
The receptionist smiles, "Sure ma'am. You can have it charged at the concierge."
He points to a small room at the right. Before I can do anything Ollie grabs my phone, "I'll have it charged. Get the directions to the ballroom, I'll be back."
I do just that and the receptionist provides me with a map para makapunta kami sa ballroom. There are a couple of ballrooms in the resort, we're looking for Dulce Ballroom so we can talk to the coordinator.
