Chapter 34

Demi's POV

Currently I'm sitting in my hotel room in Chicago, guitar in my hands and writing down all my thoughts into lyrics.

I've been on tour for a month and nine days today and there's been no word from Elena and no attempt of one either. I thought maybe that we, I, would've meant more to her but obviously not.. Or she's just got that much of a big ego that she couldn't be the one to run after me.

However as usual my conversation weeks ago with Josh comes into mind and I remember the promise I made both to him and most importantly Serena, to be patient.

And I would be patient, just like Josh told me too because ultimately Serena's happiness is what matters to me the most. So if I had to wait a few more months or even a year I would, because Serena, she's my ride or die.

"Mar!" I called.

"Yeah Dems what's up?"

"I need to go back to LA for two days," I explained and a smirk instantly appeared on her face.

"You're whipped," she said and I rolled my eyes at her and shook my head, "Am not,".

"Are too," she argued with that devilish smirk still playing on her lips.

"Please just cover for me because you know if they found out I left this whole tour I will be in deep shit."

"I'll just say that you have a really bad flu and that you're highly contagious and only I'm allowed to be with you because I'm immune or some bullshit cover story," she said as I chuckled at how good my best friend is at this stuff.

"Thankyou so much Mar, love you heaps and I'll see you when I get back," I said hugging her tightly.

"Good luck Dems go get your girl!" she cheered.

With that I hopped into a taxi that took me to my private jet and off we went heading to LA so I could get this girl that I love with the biggest ego possibly in this world.

Serena's POV

"You're an idiot," Josh said once again.

"Thankyou for all your support Josh,"

"Serena you love her and I know you've said that too her a few times but you don't anymore because you are confused since this hasn't happened since Reagan and you never thought it would happen again but it is Serena, it's happening and you let her go without a fight!"

"We are bad for each other, I'm bad Josh, last night I illegally sold drugs to a couple of the teenage boys at our school once again and god knows what else I'll have to do because newsflash were in a gang, a very high skilled gang and may I mention with another gang coming after us so yes Josh I let her go because I know I won't be able to handle it if something happens to Demi and it's my fault again, I can't lose someone else that I love," I admitted and soon as that was said I took off to the most weirdest place for me to go too, school.

I made it just in time for first period and was surprised when Jacob walked in as well taking a seat next to me.

"Why are you here?" I whispered once he took a seat next to me.

"I could ask you the same question," he replied.

It wasn't took long after our history teacher walked in and started talking about The Civil War which surprisingly I took an interest in. But it wasn't long until my mind drifted off to both Demi and Reagan.

That day when my brothers killed Reagan plays back in my mind and I remember everything as if it was just yesterday. I remember the way the colour drained out of her face and how I screamed and cried for help but it was all too late, it had already been done. I remember from that day I swore to never get attached to anybody else because the life I chose to live, this one, is dangerous and could get any of my loved ones killed who don't know about the gang, who don't understand this kind of life. I know that my life and Josh, Jacob's and Britt's is always in danger but they understand all of it, they're apart of it but Demi, she's not and I couldn't risk her getting killed. I couldn't go through each day knowing it was my fault that she died, not again I couldn't cope.
