Chapter 43

Hand-in-hand we walk down the pathway of the gardens of Palais Royal. Akali squeezes my hand, pulling me from my thoughts.

"Something on your mind?"

I shake my head, "Not really."

"Buuut... you are going to tell me anyway."

I tell her anyway, "It is all a little bit unreal. Though I am here with you, I would never have thought about this scenario."

She nods, "If you never got that backbone I wonder if we would ever have become more than just friends," she nudges her head against my shoulder.

"I mean maybe one of the girls would have picked me up," I joke.

"Oh yeah? Eve? Though I suppose that could have happened even with Kai'Sa. The only person I don't see that scenario working with is Ahri."

"I mean I can be a side dude, I think I can make a pretty good one as well."

She looks up at me with an icy glare, "Don't say that again."

I laugh to myself as she shakes her head at me, "I would never."

She narrows her eyes further, "Didn't you sleep with Eve without asking my permission?"

I scratch the back of my neck, "I am pretty sure I talked to you about it. Okay, why are fighting about this anyway?!"

"Just pointing out how quick and willing you are to get into bed with a girl."

"I... I can't believe you would say that about me, though before you start pulling out the evidence I am not fighting against the accusation."

She then lowers her gaze, rubbing her chin, "I am not sure if I am supposed to be happy I won or be upset."

"How about we just focus on us for today?"

She nods, wearing a bright smile, "Sure."

Wandering around the gardens, some people figured out that they weren't dreaming and that Akali was walking amongst them and that she has a boyfriend. I couldn't help but laugh at some of the reactions, Akali trying to simmer me down to make sure we don't garner any more attention.

From there on we decided to delve into some pastries and a few cups of coffee. No matter what I think this would be one of my favourite stops for the day, for reasons that are pretty obvious.

"Suprised you didn't invite Senna and Lucian along," she asks across the table, running the tip f her shoe up my shin.

"I figured they would want to do their own thing. Besides a married couple along with a boyfriend and girlfriend would kind of feel off," she smiles at me, "What?"

"Nothing," she quickly takes a sip from her coffee, before stuffing her face again, "It is just, you never publicly called me your girlfriend."

"I never did? I mean if not that what are we?" I narrow my eyes at her.

She only lifts her hands in defence, "I am just saying. It is nice to hear you say it."

I chuckle, "Yeah, though we weren't exactly public with it."

She nods, "It is a breath of fresh air knowing we don't have to deal with any random repercussions of people finding us out. Now we can just be open about it."

"Until one day I get kidnapped and held at gun-point. They demand you pay up before they blow the brains out of your defenceless boyfriend," I cover my eyes with my arm.

"So dramatic.... wait do you actually think something like that will happen?"

"Some crazy people out there... have you seen the fan art?"
