I fell asleep during the middle of The Nightmare Before Christmas, but to be completely honest, I wasn't even paying attention. I was thinking about how much Michael was going to love his gift.I had no clue for what he'd pick, so I was taking him with me to pick out a kitten.

When we went over to Minnie's apartment, she had just gotten an new kitten. He was entirely white, but had one blue and one green eye. He was literally the cutest cat I had ever seen. And Michael had taken a liking to him quite quickly, which made me think of getting him a kitten for Christmas. I could see him doing the same thing he did at Minnie's cat, meowing back at him over and over again.

When the sunlight was peeking in through the windows, I felt it burning through my eyelids. I peeked one eye open, letting sun wake me up. Because I wanted to fall back asleep, I tried getting up to shut the blinds. But Michael's arms were around me, not wanting to let my waist go. I poked him arm, making it flex quickly, but then relax again. I poked his nose, but all it did was tighten his grip. By now I was fully awake.

"Ugh, Michael Gordon Clifford. What am I going to do with you?" He peeked an eye open.

"Love me?" I shook my head at him, giggling at his neediness.

"We're getting your gift today. I figured you'd be more excited than me and wake up earlier." Just after I said that, Michael jumped up, letting go of me and changing quickly.

"Let's go get it!!!" He shouted. I think he forgot for a moment about his gift. I sat up, still in my jeans and tank top from last night, and walked over to Luke's room. I knocked on the door, slowly twisting the doorknob, and coming in. Luke was sprawled out on the comfortable bed, looking like he'd refuse to get up. So I didn't try. I grabbed a sticky note, saying we'd be back in an hour or so to get Mikey's gift.

I didn't bother with changing because my clothes weren't wrinkled. I tied my hair into a ponytail and did very light makeup. I grabbed my red bandana, and instead of tying it like a headband, I used it to cover Michael's eyes. With my help, I sat him in the passenger seat and ran to the other side to drive.

When we got there, Michael hadn't stopped talking the entire time. He was so excited, and he didn't even know where we were.

"Alright. We're here, Michael." I untied the bandana and let him see outside of the shelter. His eyes got wide and he looked to me, unable to say anything. I smiled and grabbed his hand, leading him into the place. The woman there greeted us and lead us to the kittens.

Michael's eyes lit up as the kittens came into view. He immediately picked up a black cat with green eyes, and we both knew it was the one he'd get. So I went up to the front and automatically paid for her, and let Michael pick a random name. He picked Nirvana as a final choice, me not letting him name the cat "Punk." It was a different name, but I mean it was better than some other generic cat name.

I let him come home and play with the kitten the rest of the day, me still being tired and wanting to take a nap. Which was exactly what I did.
