"Why can't I see Zarkon" Pidge asked as she stood before Haggar who kept stopping her from entering her father room.
"He needs rest and must not be seen in the state he in" Haggar answered coldly.
"I don't care if he at full strength or as weak as the dead, I want to see him and see that he still alive. No one seen him for weeks and all I keep hearing is he alive but no one checked. I don't care if I get killed for seeing him in such a state .. I just need to know he alive" Pidge whispered yelled back, her eyes desperate as she pushed past Haggar.
"He dying" Haggar answered in a small voice making the princess freeze.
"Then you should have let me seen him sooner, He was the only one to stay for me and I won't just let him die without me seeing him before. I won't forgive myself for not being near when he going to leave me forever too" Pidge huffed back, walking closer to the door as Haggar kept her head low.
"He has a chance to live, I'm working on it and he slowly getting stronger to wake. But he must not be disturbed, enter and he will die" Haggar warned making the princess freeze.
"I know you won't forgive me for being labelled as the princess and I know you won't ever see me as the princess but fear Zarkon wrath if you didn't follow me before. But now, while he at his worse .. just know I never cared over how you saw me or how you thought over me. I won't be queen and we both know it but I'm going to keep lying to myself until I can't run anymore from it. Until then, promise to at least let me stay in his life no matter how little or long he may have left of it" Pidge replied, her voice soft and low as she spoke her mind while looking to Zarkon huge metal double doors.
"While he still holds breath, I'll follow you I was ordered but know that I only serve him. The moment he dies, I will kill you with my magic like I should have nineteen years ago. If the worse comes and he won't live more then minutes I'll fetch you and allow his last moments to be with you .. I grant you that promise" Haggar spoke up, her voice low but honest as she spoke her own mind while also knowing the princess deserved at least some minutes of peace before death. She did do so much for the galra empire even if not many took notice over it.
Haggar turned round as she felt the princess spin on the spot. The witch now waiting to be yelled at or slapped for speaking in such a way towards the princess. She was clearly not expecting what she was given instead.
"Thank you, Haggar" Pidge smiled softly, looking to the witch like she was an grandma who was always there for us and treated the way of the world.
Haggar just looked to the princess in shock, she never expected to be thanked by the princess she was always so cold and cruel towards. She admitted to wanting to kill the princess just moments ago and yet she was thanked.
"I'll leave you to your duty now, I'm sure Zarkon is grateful to you as well as I am. He cut his emotions off and he may seem evil but he got a heart just like I do. Deep within it, where the true him lays sleeping, I'm sure he holds much care of you" Pidge smiled sweetly before walking away and just leaving Haggar to stand there in shock .
Pidge lowered her head, glancing around corners and walking when she noticed no one ahead. She didn't want to play princess or commander right now, she just wanted to be sad. She never heard the news over Zarkon health, not like her brother was and the rest of the universe. It took her using a private link to Zarkon ship to find out such news.
