Flashback, Weeks Ago...

"You don't deserve to be a rebound, your worth so much more then that" Pidge admitted with a kind smile as she threw another rock in the air, helping Lance train his shooting skills a little.

"What makes you think I'll be the rebound?" Lance scoffed back a little hurt and shooting the rock in the air with ease making him lower his blaster again.

"Because you still care for her, you love her in a way but it's not true love" Pidge simply answered as she picked up another pink rock from the planet they were letting the lions rest on.

"Oh says the one who wants to become mates with the first decent man she met. Who happens to be Shiro and during his fighting days that most would find hot" Lance bitterly grumbled back as he shot towards the rock, missing making him quick to shoot again hitting it this time.

"I didn't plan to fall for Takashi, not really. I was expected to chose an Galra commander or will with great wealth and power. Become Mate's with one so I'll have a place in the empire if my Father ever did fall. He'd at least protected me from courtships that were a little .. unacceptable in his eyes. But that's why I think he'd allow me to fight beside Kuro, he knew I grew fond over the champion but he thought it was over his skills in battle not .. something more" Pidge admitted with a sadden frown as she stared at the sky above, the new rock gripped in her hand as she held back from throwing it for a moment.

"Would you have kept hold of your feelings if you stayed by your Father. If you didn't get stuck with us, would you have chosen someone else" Lance asked with worry, he's always wondered if Shiro was the main reason for her to stay but she'd have known it was Kuro not Shiro.

"Yes, I would have buried what I held for Takashi and walked the path of a Princess. Find a mate worthy to have me and pass on an heir for them while eventually giving up my commander life style" Pidge answered with a sigh, throwing the rock back up as Lance quickly raised his blaster and took a shot.

"And that's why you're telling me to find someone else. To stop me from ending up with a broken heart?" Lance asked with a raised eyebrow, feeling a little happy to know he had a friend looking out for his heart and his back. Pidge picking up two rocks once more and pushing herself to stand again.

"I almost gave up on what I didn't think I deserved but, whenever I look to Takashi, I don't regret following after him. I want you to feel what I'm finally accepting to feel. Your a good guy Lance, you deserve your own chance at happiness" Pidge replied with a soft smile, her eyes glancing towards the main camp area where the others sat. Her eyes staying on the outline of the one she was speaking over.

"Maybe she dose make me happy. Maybe I'm willing for it to stay one-sided or false just because she makes me that happy" Lance quickly argued back stubbornly as Pidge threw both rocks in the air at the same time to make things more difficult for him.

"Find someone who accepted you from the beginning, they might have found you annoying at first but they never ignored you for who you are. Find that one person who is willing to give you the time of day and let's you be yourself without you always having to try to impress them. Pick somebody who noticed you from the start instead of noticing you near the end when they've got no one else. Find true eternal love and cherish it, it's sometimes worth the wait. You deserve to cherish such love too, you just need to look a little closer to home then chasing after someone back with false hope" Pidge advised as she squatted down, picking up three rocks while Lance took care of the two above. A knowing look in her eyes as she looked to him before standing once more.
