A Few Days Later...

"Today is a solemn day. Today, we look back at the lives that have been lost, and the sacrifices that have been made here on Earth and across the universe. There isn't one of us here today who hasn't experienced the tragedy of losing someone close. It truly feels like a light has gone out in our lives and the sun itself couldn't reignite it. But that light, that fire, has not gone out completely. It is fuelled within each of us by the memories and love of those we've lost. And now we must move forward in their names. And shine that light onto a new path for future generations. Today is a solemn day, but it is also a day of hope. Earth is now stronger than ever, and it stands as a beacon of light to help guide those fighting against tyranny and oppression. From here, we will spread peace, and together we will hold strong as the defenders of the universe"

"Katie, Matthew will you please stop making the sentries hold up pictures of my younger garrison self and paladin self. My hair isn't that bad!" Shiro sighed as he looked to the few sentries splatted around in the crowd holding up posters of his younger Garrison self and his paladin self.

"Says the guy who won't dare look into a mirror" Keith scoffed from where he sat in his hospital bed, watching the ceremony from the hospital tv screen in his private room.

"I don't think he can tell us off on live tv when he's got a photo of Rover placed on a platform on that stage beside the traitorous Sanda" Matt huffed back as he threw his pillow towards his tv screen in his private hospital room.

"This is why I told the doctors we should be allowed to bring our phones or games or something to help pass the time in the hospital room. But nooo and now, you've trapped two hackers in a room with gadgets around for them to mess with" Lance whined as he rolled his eyes, trying to find the remote to chance the chancel of his tv in his own private hospital room.

"The speech was really nice and Shiro did so well in holding out the scolding until after the speech" Hunk smiled as he patted his hospital blanket, leaving the tv to fill background sound in his private hospital room since it wasn't visitors time just yet.

"This is why we can't take the paladins anywhere" Allura sighed as she shook her head, wondering if the paladins were actually children not adults. She turned her tv off in her private room, waiting for Coran to visit her.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'LL BE STUCK WITH THAT CANE! I'm walking out of this hospital and using a healing pod, I can live with the pain long enough to use a pod. Keep those crutches away from me, I won't surrender to them" Pidge stubbornly screamed back as she crawled her way down the hallway that held all the private hospital rooms, all the five paladins just turned to their closed doors amused.

"Please miss, you must rest in bed. Your injures aren't healed yet and it take a few weeks for your sprained ankle to heal" A nurse replied with worry, rushing after Pidge with a pair of crutches in her hands.

"I'm fully healed enough to wipe out a whole squad of my enemies and still eat lunch before heading to a pod" Pidge argued back as she pushed herself to stand, walking in a straight line without limping as she forcefully numbed her pain.

"But we don't hold any pods, we're not advantage enough for them" The nurse answered with a confused frown, clutching the crutches to her chest a little as she watched Pidge walk like nothing was wrong.
